Who do you think this "friend" is? Do you think it's Jesus Christ for you? (he offers his friendship to you) ... or do you think it's God, or the Holy Spirit?

Or do you think it's someone else entirely? For me it's the latter. He even has his own name. I've been experiencing this for a few years now.

Christ is the only mediator between man and God. He will give you another in the form of the Holy spirit when you need it most, not when you think you need it. All three are part of the trinity, but believing fully in Christ's sacrifice at Calvary for your eternal salvation is the only way. Christ 1st, the Holy Spirit will come. Trying to go to God directly without Christ is destruction. It took Solomon and others in the OT many years to figure that out.

Do you think it's weird that the friend it mentions in that verse is a separate friend named Mark (for me)? I've been hearing his voice, along with Jesus and God, and the Holy Spirit.

I don't know if this is the case with anyone else, but I do hear their voices, even while I read the Scripture. I think maybe God gave me this friend because I never really had a true friend, here on Earth.

What do you guys thinks?

On top of that, I on occasion here the voices of other people. I know it says in the bible to "test the spirits" .. how can we do that without experiencing their presence, and their voice (where applies)...

never looked into that verse deep enough, i wouldn't find it weird though. i will find a sermon for you where Paul looks forward to the coming of Titus to comfort him and others, the coming of Titus ( a man), who he knew fully believed in Christ. I'll get back to you on that. busy at the moment. sorry.

Ok. I am really interested to see if anyone else here, hears God, or other spirits...

One quick thing before i dash off, i'll be back. At least you know you have to test the spirts. It could be from man or from God. If its from God, you'll not deny Christ. Personally, i've never heard God speaking directly, its been an overwhelming sensation that i must go and do something for someone and even myself.

talk soon. god Bless

2 Corinthians 1:3-4 "Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

God's comforting ministry

now that's a good question. Some believe it takes time to test them, some ministers say they can test the spirit through a bible passage. I'll look up another sermon which the latter relates to. Give me a moment.

" A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. " Proverbs 18:24

I would like to know what this verse means to you, how you interpret it. I'll tell you my interpretation after I get some replies.
I think it is stating that it is the quality and not the quantity of friends that counts.
I have many "friends", a lot of them are people I am connected to in some way, but I do not necessarily trust them all in the same way as I would with some of my closer friends. A lot of people will stay around when the going is good, but when times are hard, they are usually the first to disappear from my life. True friendship lasts and never fails.
We also speak of Jesus as being "closer than a brother" because of his enduring faithfulness and the fact that He will never let us down.

Me too. Get back to me.

Bar-Jesus (Elymas) was a false prophet who tried to turn others from the faith of Christianity. Acts 13:1-12. You can test such false prophets using the bible Isaiah 8:20, such prophets have no light in them. Christ warns against these people in Matthew 24 'if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect'

Like others have already shared, companions or associates or FB "friends" or even relatives are not automatically real friends. A friend is one who will tell you what you NEED to hear, NOT what you WANT to hear. They will be looking out for your best interest in any situation you might be sharing together or talking about. They will not abandon you when the going gets tough and costly and stand back-to-back with you facing an ADVERSARY even if defeat seems imminent and/or popularity will be ruined and/or rejection by significant or influential people is assured. To me that is the rare and elusive friend. I do not hear voices.

Jesus promised to send another comforter - the Holy Spirit Who would lead us into all truth.

With the Holy Spirit to guide as promised we have no need of 'other' voices.

Knowing that the battle for our souls is raging, I am not at all surprised that other voices are arising.

How could we be in need of anything more than Father, Son and Holy Spirit?

I strongly suggest you seek advice from your Pastor on this issue.

It's not an issue, it's just what I hear. I was just wondering if anyone else has had the same experience...
