Hi, so I'm kind of a heavy metal fan. I was wondering if there was any Christian heavy metal songs out there. Thanks : )
Tons:
August Burns Red
Underoath
Norma Jean
Demon Hunter
Lots more--just google and go on YouTube.

You can't substitute Scripture for something else (although some things are akin to "scripture", see Pink Floyd), but supposedly, these metal bands are relevant to Christianity:
  • Avenged Sevenfold (musically very rich)
  • Ghost B.C. (formerly associated with satanism)
  • Haste The Day
  • Vengeance Rising
  • Becoming The Archetype
  • Red

If you aren't looking for just metal, then these bands, not strictly them per se, but bands like these are interesting:
  • Amadeus Symphony Orchestra (classical music)
  • SUS Coptic Diocese (vocal psalms and hymns)

Not sure I'd include Avenged Sevenfold on that list. Listened a bit too much to their lyrics to believe they are positive or relevant to Christianity. "Jesus Christ was born to die. Leave it to man to levitate his own to idolize. We're simply sociopaths with no communication, baby. I see your angle but we differ from our points of view. So tell me, what's your cross to bear." seems entirely contrary to a message of Christ being a savior. Like them musically and enjoyed their concert - just wouldn't recommend them to someone wanting Christian metal.

One I haven't seen mentioned is Fight the Fury. John Cooper, lead singer of hard rock Skillet, put that band together as a side project to venture into metal.

I think they count as Christian.

They definitely count as Christian. It's open for debate if they count as metal. Hard rock for sure, and they get close if not there quite a bit. It would depend on how the OP sees metal. Really worth checking out thought, they are a great band.

LEAH deserves some love. She's not a big band, but her music is great (more Power Metal-ish?).

Cool, i like some power metal.

I have listened to bands like Nightwish,Hammerfall,Stratovarius,Rhapsody of fire, and such.
