I have gone back to "saved by faith alone". Why? One reason was I could find no peace when I had to look at my own life to see if I was saved. Do works matter? Surely so! By obedience we keep our faith, but it's by faith through the Holy Spirit we are connected to Christ, the cross, the forgiveness of sins. Through the Holy Spirit we are children of God.

Tim 4
7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith; 8 in the future there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day; and not only to me, but also to all who have loved His appearing.

Then that would contradict what he stated.

Perhaps. Any view of OSAS that is different will be a contradiction.

My point was....if a person is truly saved....and then they change their theology...they remain saved.

And exactly how it that you would know one way or the other?

A child of God is not going to change what they believe as the truth
for they are born of the truth.

Do you agree?

Faith in Jehovah Tsidkenu our redeemer is key to eternal life in the Kingdom of Heaven made without hands. Faith in Christ will sustain you in this life, he'll provide a comforter, teacher, guide in your time of need. Daily reading of the scriptures, praying, listening to Gospel songs will help you along the way. Christ will provide multiple ways for you to grow as a Christian and be at peace with him. Ways you can not even begin to imagine. It might be a phonecall from a Christian friend, a tiny message pinned to a tree.

god bless

i did, not presently. I'm on the mountain top now and desire every Christian to be there too, but i'm wise enough to know its not possible to be there all the time in this life. We all will experience valley's of despair. Thankfully Christ is our hope and his saints on earth are here to lift up the weary ones. As Christians we should never be like Job's 3 miserable comforters.

Well, take no offense, but relying upon our own thoughts instead of what the Bible says is never a good way to build your faith, my friend. Romans 10:17 says “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Faith does not come by hearing our own thoughts. We have to remember, “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” (Jeremiah 17:9). You need to look at the whole counsel of God's Word and not just those verses you find to be more comforting from your own perspective.

Take for example 2 Timothy 4:7-8 in which you quote. A part of that faith includes 2 Timothy 3:1-9 where Paul describes that in the last days perilous times will come and men will be lovers of their own selves, and they will have a form of godliness but they will deny the power thereof. They are lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God. If OSAS was true, then Paul would not refer to any group being not of the faith on the account of their unfaithfulness.

For if there is one thing I know about the OSAS or the Belief Alone camp, you cannot lose your salvation by sin. This means that many will be led to think that they can sin and still be saved on some level by our telling them this (if we are not careful to ALWAYS explain every time that if one is not living holy and a changed life, then one is not of God). But most do not do so. They just say, Once Saved Always Saved, and you don't lose salvation if you sin. Therefore, this leads many to treat God's grace as a license to sin. Therein lies the problem with OSAS or faith alone. In fact, James even says, “Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.” (James 2:24).

Jesus said narrow is the way and FEW be there that find it.
When I look around at the evangelical Sola Scriptura churches today, everyone believes in OSAS or Belief Alone-ism. This to me sounds like the wide gate path everyone is on. No need to offend anyone. Just preach feel good messages every Sunday and put a little money in the offering and hear some beautiful music that makes you feel good and then live life as you did before you met Christ. For it doesn't matter. Your Once Saved Always Saved. You got your license. Your golden ticket to Heaven. No need to even worry about reading the Bible or praying or loving God. Your Once Saved Always Saved. But James says even the demons believe and tremble (James 2:19).

No. Some people who are children of God are taught bad theology.

I've noticed you never really did explain what a child of the devil was. You only hinted.

I don't believe we aren't saved because we don't hold to faith alone, but that it's the faith alone that saves us.
You have believe so many different things about the salvation of God and changed them like socks...what makes this one any different from the rest?

I don't believe in OSAS. I'm more in agreement with the Lutheran doctrine of salvation.

John 14:15 'if you love me keep my commandments"

That's extremely important in keeping the faith in Christ our redeemer.

Personally i believe keeping Christ's commandments takes place within the heart of a true Christian. All the characteristics/traits/attitudes/behaviour Paul, Peter, and others NT saints explained in detail was there to help edify the early church in fulfilling the law.

The reformed/messianic church which separated itself from Paganism/Judiasm didn't need to be in bondage to OT laws, dietary laws, ceremonies and other practices.

We as blood bought Christians are free from those things, but our behaviour and attitudes needs corrected at times because we're still in a sinfull state. That correction may come come from the Lord himself, through our minister, our friends in Christ, our elders, deacons, the bible or even by self examination.
