from the article. President Trump’s re-election campaign launched a new television ad Wednesday titled “You won’t be safe in Joe Biden’s America,” accusing the presumptive Democratic nominee and his allies of undermining law enforcement.
The spot, which campaign officials said is being rolled into its existing ad buy, is airing nationally and in key battleground states.
The ad begins by showing an empty police department with ringing phones going unanswered.
“The radical left-wing mob’s agenda: Take over U.S. cities, defund the police, pressure more towns to follow,” a narrator intones. “And Joe Biden stands with them.”
The ad asserts that Mr. Biden and Democrats support “cutting police funding … eliminating cash bail … letting criminals back on the street,” and warns there will be more “innocent children fatally shot.” “Who will be there to answer the call when your children aren’t safe?” the narrator asks.
Joe Biden is too weak to stand up the extremists in his party and is aiding and abetting their radical undermining of law and order in cities across American,” said Trump campaign communications director Tim Murtaugh.

Mathew 24-7 ethnos will rise and fight against ethnos,

I've always heard and interpreted it to be nation but its looking more and more like race against race.

You'd think an incumbent would have actual accomplishments to run on rather than being forced to resort to "well, at least my second term would be somewhat better than total anarchy and lawlessness".

Not to mention the the ad is not telling the truth about Biden's actual stance, but when has that stopped Donald's team before?

I am glad that someone had the guts to put forward for Trump here the lies of the Biden campaign that the truth of Trump's. Thank you.

That one of Biden's is so distorted and insane about the poor little child drinking a cup of safe and clean water but the viewer is led to believe that Trump himself has poisoned the poor child. Gee, I did not know that the President's job include making EPA decisions???!!! So illogical but so par for the course.

Biden is a socialist and leaning more and more left everyday.

Actually those controlling his puppet strings are pulling him in that direction.

Typically when one quotes a post, they are doing so to reply to it in some coherent way.

Nobody's safe on the streets of Trump's America, either, and since you can't just throw the police at the Coronavirus, it doesn't really matter right now if Trump is for or against defunding the police (though that certainly does matter when you're trying to have a peaceful protest and he uses those police to beat you and clear you out of the area so that he can have a path to his next photo op in front of a church while holding a book he's clearly never read, cos that sort of thing plays well with his Evangelical base).

Nobody would be safe on the streets of ‘Biden’s America,’ new Trump campaign ad warns

The ad is VERY effective. Primarily because it shows the worst possible interpretation of a broad concept.

The LEFT made a mistake by giving the Right this kind of ammunition...but the Right did exactly what they do: they jumped on the most extreme end of the spectrum and painted the whole conversation with one broad brush.

MOST RATIONAL people who talk about "defund the police" are NOT talking about removing police altogether. They are saying we need to take those funds and expand the SKILLSET. Police shouldn't be taking on the role of "social worker", "mental healthcare crisis intervention", etc.

As such the point is to decrease funding for standard Cop-with-a-gun and plug more of that money into social workers and mental health crisis intervention specialists.

But that also reeks of "helping people" and not simply beating them to a pulp to solve our problems so it will not appeal to many voters on the Right.

So we are treated to this nightmare ad. It plays to Conservative Fears and it was largely caused because the Left came up with a stupid name "Defund the police" coupled with a few extremists saying stupid things. The REALLY VALUABLE information and conversation were lost immediately.

That's all you need for a Conservative "win".

Accept Biden stated months ago that he was against defunding the police and he even said that he didn't think it would be safe for mental health workers to go to police calls using his own daughter as an example because she is a mental health worker and wouldn't be able to handle a violent person without help. He actually had a fairly long discussion about this in an interview. I haven't heard anything about him changing his mind about that.

It's so true. We had all that lawlessness in the streets during the protests under Obama, and now Trump has singlehandedly stopped that cold with his mighty powers of fixing.

Just being "mental health workers" wouldn't do it. They would have to be specially trained semi-cops prepared to deal with potentially violent situations. Same with social workers. Some random 25 year old kid with an MSW doesn't have the special skills necessary.
