Here's a food holiday not canceled by the coronavirus pandemic: National French Fry Day.

While 7-Eleven canceled its annual Free Slurpee Day, Chick-fil-A postponed its Cow Appreciation Day and Tax Day freebies and deals are nearly nonexistent, restaurants across the nation are still offering free fries and fry deals Monday.

Real chips have depth and breadth and substance. Your problem my son is that you weren't brought up proper when it comes to chip appreciation.

And if you want a real hamburger come to Australia.

The Australian equivalent of those insipid, tasteless excuses for hamburgers pumped out by MacDonalds is 'One-With-The-Lot . 'The Lot' is:

• Hamburger meat (without the sawdust)
• A pile of fried onions
• A fried egg
• Bacon
• A slice of cheese
• Sliced tomato
• Beetroot
• Lettuce
• An optional ring of canned pineapple for the Hawaiian touch

all stacked on a toasted roll with a blast of Barbecue sauce..

I don't blame you for not appreciating good food. It's your deprived American upbringing.

I did weigh at one time like 15 years ago 225 and now 150 because I drink lots of water.
