What are you talking about? BTW...the most racist part of Mount Rushmore is the president who built the "religious image". Which last i checked was a Democrat. ;)

The US Supreme Court itself now agrees that Mt. Rushmore's land belongs to the Oglalla Sioux tribe due to a treaty dating back to 1868 ceding that land to them.

Not everything is partisan, some things are wrong regardless of who did them.

If the left gets its way the horrors will be immense:

1. Accessible affordable healthcare
2. Expanded family leave
3. Improved social safety net
4. Racial equity
5. Reduction in gun violence, gun deaths and mass shootings.

I honestly can't think of a worse place to live than a place that has all that! YIKES
I can appreciate your sarcasm. :) All those things you listed sound wonderful indeed, who wouldn't want them?

The first 3 things you listed unfortunately would require personal responsibility from the citizens to work properly. Accessible affordable healthcare will ultimately crumble if people rely on outside entities for health, while continuing to dig their graves with their teeth, engage in substance abuse, and totally disregards their bodies, because, hey, health care is free or affordable.

Expanded family leave. Who is going to pay for that? the company that has hired the employee? the state, the feds? Most likely, the taxpayers...

Improved social safety net. We have had social safety net for decades, it's called welfare, and we have had people who have made welfare generational starting when they were teenagers. Their lives did not improve.
We have Medicare. We have Medicaid. We have Social Security. All of these on the taxpayers.
I guess, it could always be improved. But how exactly? what more should the government do? Who is going to pay for more programs?

Racial equity. I love that term, because it is so vague. How exactly is the left going to make "racial equity" happen? A lot of the riots happened in states and cities ruled by.....drumrolls... democrats, most of them positionned on the left, as in Major Durkan of Seattle, who allowed CHAZ/CHOP to take over 6 city blocks and dubbed it a block party and the Summer of Love! That is, until they brought the pitchfork to her doorsteps.

Reduction in gun violence, gun death and mass shootings. Ok. Lofty goal. I want to see the left fixing Chicago's South side gun violence issues first, then I will believe they can solve the issue of gun violence.

Then you can blame FDR for the atrocity.

Unlike you, I suppose, I can accept that good people sometimes do bad things or things I can't approve of. I do not share in the demonization tactics of the Christian religion.

What does the "Christian religion" have to do with the topic? Furthermore, do you not think George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, and Theodore Roosevelt are "good people" who did some great things worth celebrating regardless of the fact they may have done some bad things? Or does FDR somehow get a pass for some strange reason?

What is your problem with FDR?

Mine is that his insistence on unconditional surrender probably extended WW II. Perhaps for a year or more. Of course those with the greatest grievance would be those who never got born because the man who would have been their father died in that year.

If those well educated with good jobs think supporting the left and its agenda is going to help them keep those good jobs and the life they lead, they are deluded.

I do not agree.

In Seattle, the mob went to Major Durkan's doorsteps with its pitchfork and scared her to death. Major Durkan had been bending over backward to satisfy their demands, but nothing she did was good enough for them.

Good friends with the Mayor are you?

You with the supposedly well educated good jobs, don't be surprised when they come for you too!

That is the fear. That is why we are pushing to reduce the inequality and make society more just. What would you suggest instead? More of the same that produced he inequality in the first place?

I really don't have a problem with him. But he did order the monument construction on Mount Rushmore as part of his New Deal. So it it is as terrible as people say it is, it would be him to blame. Right?

When you say "belongs to them" do you mean held in trust? Or they own it as private property?

I don't think anyone has an issue with you or anyone else giving up your wealth, property, land, or time in order to make things more equitable.

The problem occurs when people insist I do it.

I agree.

And I think those folks should lead by example first. They should give up their wealth, property, land and time in order to make things more equitable. And then maybe we can talk about what I am willing to give up.

Unless they have NOTHING to give up... of course, which betrays them as opportunists.

From what I can tell they imagine themselves as some sort of well educated well employed folk so it seems they have plenty to give.
