I have a question. When Mary Magdalene saw Jesus at the empty tomb, he warned her not to touch Him. Why?
Yet later He allowed Doubting Thomas to touch Him.
He must have changed in appearance of course, as people did not recognize Him. But this body He was in fascinates me.

A fairly common thought on this is when He saw Mary He had not yet been before the Father. I've heard this more than once and I honestly have no other explanation. Maybe someone else can shed more light on this for you. However, It's also worth noting there is no recorded words saying Thomas actually touched the wound spots but it seems rather that seeing was enough. Jesus probably knew this would be the case, He does know us better than we do.

But after the resurrection He had on His glorified body. We get one of those too, we will be transformed. Can't wait to go through a wall lol !

After His resurrection, why did Jesus tell Mary not to touch Him, but later tell Thomas to touch Him? | GotQuestions.org

Because He had not yet ascended to The Father to present Himself and be accepted (remember it was on Yom HaBikkurim). He was the first fruit from among the dead. Mary was not in a state of purity. Once He ascended and was accepted, it was fine to touch Him.

The Greek words translated "touch" are different and modern versions translate the first word as "cling." She, and the other women were still allowed to worship Him and kiss His feet. I think Mary was hugging and kissing Jesus (as she often did according to the apocryphal gospels) while He asked Thomas to simply touch Him.

The question is why was it wrong to hug Jesus after the resurrection? It could be to psychologically train her to not be attached to His physical presence until she goes to meet Him in Paradise.

I think the idea is that she shouldn't cling to him as if she could keep him there. It wasn't about physical touch as much as it was about preparing her for the reality that his resurrected/ "physical" presence was going to return to the Father.

The resurrection appearances were a transitional moment between Jesus being physically present in time and space, and Christ being spiritually present via the Holy Spirit.
