The Ark of the Covenant is in heaven with God:

"And the temple of God which is in heaven was opened, and the Ark of his Covenant was seen in his temple." Revelation 11:19

It is not in Axum, as some claim. Guys please just read the Bible.
Could there be a duplicate on earth?

There's interesting story about it being seen under Golgotha...

Here's an interesting page about that. Don't know if its'strue...but you asked.

I wonder if it was a sly reference to the second covenant, and the ark that is Christ.

Could there be a duplicate on earth?

It was presumably lost during the destruction of Jerusalem by the Babylonians in 587 BC. There was no ark in the second Temple (Josephus, BJ 5.219).

Its probably hidden away somewhere..
The Jews had a functioning temple at Elephantine near Aswan, Egypt that was destroyed in the 4th century BCE. It is possible the Ark of the Covenant was brought there by the Prophet Jeremiah and other Jewish refugees who established that Temple in southern Egypt. Subsequently, it was taken Ethiopia where Ethiopian Christians have claimed that the ark rests in a chapel in the small town of Aksum, in their country's northern highlands.

The Hebrews did not make a copy of the Ark of the Covenant, there is only one, this one was with Moses in the beginning and is now with God.
All so-called "duplicates" are fakes and should therefore be ignored.

It has not been lost, God has taken it to his home in heaven. Besides, why don't you take the Bible as a source, why do you quote statements from strangers? Just accept what the Bible says.

Yes, that is yet another theory.

The reference was in making a duplicate of the ark in heaven by Gods order. I'm not arguing for or against that.

Remember that the Book of Revelation is based on a vision. Every detail is not to be taken super-literally, nor did John himself think of it that way.
Yes that is true, much in Revelation is symbolic but not everything.
The biblical passage about the Ark of the Covenant can and should be accepted as it is written, if it is said that the Ark is with God, then it is there.

It is neither lost nor destroyed, it is in heaven.

By that reasoning, the Ark being located in heaven is symbolic.

Well an argument could be made that this is a prophecy so it is not certain exactly where the Ark is now but will certainly be in heaven at that time. Personally I would tend to agree that it is most likely in heaven with God but I wouldn’t say that the evidence is conclusive.

Revelation is filled with symbolism. We are under the New Covenant establish through Jesus Christ of Nazareth. The veil that separated the priests from the ark was torn in two. Christian's are the temple and the Holy Spirt now dwells inside all of us instead of a physical ark. Be blessed.

You should go by the Bible on that. The ark that Moses made was a copy of the one in heaven.
