This was not a federal problem. The blame lies on weak governors of states and mayors of cities.
Right, if only more strongmen were running things, then we’d have “law and order”!
Just think what a utopia that’ll be!
A place for everyone who knows “their place”!
Golly, it’ll be swell!

Actually I think Trump may win the election for the following reasons:

1) the last time we had such pervasive disorder was in the late 60's during the height of the race riots and antiwar disturbances. Richard Nixon ran on a law and order platform in 1968 and won.

2) Democratic support for the Corona Virus restrictions which has led to depression like unemployment and inconveniences which the public is increasingly tiring of.

3) Evangelical support (especially white evangelical support) continues to be solid and is a critical core constituency capable of providing considerable votes. Although some evangelicals may not approve of Trump's vitriol voting Democratic would be anathema given their position on issues such as abortion, gay marriage, etc.

4) Winning the presidency is not based on popular vote but the electoral vote and Republican's have been able to win the presidency in 2 recent presidential elections despite losing the popular vote. I maintain the Electoral College favors the Republican Party.

5) Republican efforts at voter suppression especially efforts to prevent mail

9 out of 10 “real” Americans would agree.

I frequently have a problem with posting occurring before I am able to finish.

5) Republican efforts at voter suppression especially efforts to limit or prevent voting by mail. Republicans are pushing to open up the country despite concerns about the Corona Virus. Those most threatened, ie, individuals in frail health, might for this reason be inclined to vote Democratic but will be afraid to do si if they have to vote in person.

Again, the situation across the country is very volatile and political conditions may change considerably in the next few months. If Trump wins again however divided the country appears now those divisions will likely only increase after the election. With the recent violence, hostility toward the press and proclivities of this administration toward authoritarianism I can foresee domestic surveillance and efforts to curtail personal freedoms.

The Day Trump Lost The Presidency | The American Conservative

(emphasis in original)

Scathing review...

Thoughts?

They just can’t help throwing this in there ‘...it is certainly true that the press is dishonest’. Presumably they are excluding themselves from this comment. The whole ‘fake news’ thing didn’t begin with Trump, it seems to be a mantra of the religious right that any views they don’t agree with are ‘dishonest’. I’ve yet to read anything from anybody that even resembles a defence of that idea, just variations on personal opinion masquerading as objectivity.

Indeed -- I wouldn't even go so far as to make the comparison with Cap'n Crunch.

After all, at least the Cap'n provides something useful -- breakfast.

Donald has provided many work opportunities for corporate lawyers and illegal immigrants, and chintzy entertainment venues for the filthy rich, plus a load of low quality trinkets providing gainful employment for dozens of Chinese factory workers. There’s probably other stuff too, the economy needs cheap and nasty tat for people to consume.

NEW YORK (Reuters) - With hours to go before Americans vote, Democrat Hillary Clinton has about a 90 percent chance of defeating Republican Donald Trump in the race for the White House, according to the final Reuters/Ipsos States of the Nation project.

I'm sorry, I don't see any connection here. Make a point?

I cleared it up. Point: dont believe everything you read, plan on having Trump around for another 4 years, then one of his kids will become president.

Consider ... that this may be delusion.

It, certainly, is unAmerican ...

It might be delusion but it certainly is not unamerican, words like that are not well tolerated by those of us who served this nation.

American leaders don't install their children to follow them.

That's North Korea ...

Yes ... we do.

And there's only been 1 case in 45 where a child of a former president was elected to the office ...

John Quincy Adams would like a word with you.

Thay said there have been zero cases of a presidents child being elected directly after their parent.

Wrong again, 2 cases, Bush and Adams, and no reason why case 3 could not be Trump.

For what reason should it be? What makes one of his kids the most qualified for the job?
