I guess I feel like video sharing today.
This is a great informative video.
any “priests” you listened to that were the “come to Christ get what you want... if you pay me” types?
Used to be a John Hagee fan myself.
:/

I was a little skeptical of the video because of it's cover picture, but liked it more than I thought. Not the usual EO fare, but it wasn't as much about heretic bashing as talking about peoples "phronema" (mindset).

I noticed the picture of Ken Copeland on the right of the picture. It will be interesting how his ministry fares in the aftermath of the Covid Crisis along with some other famous Charismatic ministers. The virus has so far eluded "prophecy", and various ministers commanding it to stop or end etc.

I never watched any tv preachers. Even those who are not preaching the prosperity message or other gospel still ask too much for money. I would hear bits and pieces of those my grandmother would watch, no names. I have heard bits and pieces of others over the years and frankly one late night while I was up and the TV was just on a certain man came on and was preaching and I was tempted to throw something at the TV, it was that bad. I think his name was Murdoch. Whatever he preaches it is not Christ in any way. I recall he made the statement that God is constrained by our action and God cannot do anything we do give Him permission to do. Last I checked the Bible, God is sovereign, I am not.

These so-called "preachers" are the plague of US society. They don't care about you, they care about your money because they live off your money. That's why they're rich. They steal from the poor, the same way the so-called "Gurus" of America, lie to thousands of people on how to get rich, whilst making money off of their backs. They perform fake "miracles" in front of TV (Fr. Seraphim Rose criticizes this in his book "Orthodoxy and the Religion of the future"), some "miracles" that take place are demonic. It's truly sad to see millions of people torn apart by these false preachers, and many people end up confused in the end.

I don't know how God answers prayers to those outside of Orthodoxy, but what makes you think God won't give you the things you want? God can't just give you things out of thin air if we don't try push ourselves to work hard on the things we love to do, the things that make us productive. And we should be thanking God for everything, even though we can't thank Him enough, at least saying "Thank you God" would do. I don't know how detailed is the life of St. George Lydda in English, but St. George had everything a person could ever want in this life, he was also physically good looking, but even after all he had, he first and foremost desired the Kingdom of God. His feast was a few weeks ago, 6th of May. We want many things from God, but what does God truly want from us? Like the Apostle Paul says:
What does the Lord want from us? Only two things: for us to love Him and each other. That is all.

God, why don’t you make my wish come true?

What is going on with us? We want God to favor us by indulging our whims. In spiritual life, though, the main issue is to suffer loss. Let yourself suffer the loss of things which are irrelevant to Christ, which are not of Christ. Once free of them, you can devote yourself completely to God. If, however, you show you want such things (a career, success, glory and an easy life), God will grant them to you as if by saying, “Is this what you want? There you go, enjoy”. And all you are left with, is this.

It is a big mistake that we are partial to having things happen as we wish.

Extreme accuracy, that is, being extremely strict about insignificant, mostly unreal things, is a proof that, deep down, man is covering up some feeling of guilt, which was perhaps forgotten.

Ugh, these guys are such grifters.

I had a friend get into one of these lying money-grubbers shortly before she died. I was a catechumen at the time.
That’s awful. These people can’t save you with a dollar. Salvation is, and will always be free.

The producer of the video is also a Protestant/Evangelical, he also is an excellent apologist, I’d recommend subscribing to his channel. Kenneth Copeland gave around two false prophecies concerning the virus since the beginning of the pandemic making him a heretic, not that he wasn’t a heretic before he made these certain false prophecies.
