The Jewish calendar is understood by many theologians to be prophetic of this age. Colossians 2:16 Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. 17 These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ. There are 7 key festivals, Passover of course refers to the beginning of the age when Jesus was crucified, Pentecost was 50 days later when the spirit fell on the disciples. The feast of tabernacles is at the end of the age. But what I want to focus on is the Festival of Trumpets.

The Festival of Trumpets

Leviticus 23:23 The Lord said to Moses, 24 “Say to the Israelites: ‘On the first day of the seventh month you are to have a day of sabbath rest, a sacred assembly commemorated with trumpet blasts. 25 Do no regular work, but present a food offering to the Lord.’”

Numbers 29:1
“‘On the first day of the seventh month hold a sacred assembly and do no regular work. It is a day for you to sound the trumpets.

So when I look at the use of the trumpets it is for battle, to signal to the children of Israel to go out and come in during their travel through the wilderness, as an alarm and to announce the coming of the king.

God has ascended amid shouts of joy, the Lord amid the sounding of trumpets. 6 Sing praises to God, sing praises; sing praises to our King, sing praises. 7 For God is the King of all the earth; sing to him a psalm of praise.

The festival of trumpets begins 10 days before the day of atonement 26 The Lord said to Moses, 27 “The tenth day of this seventh month and present a food offering to the Lord. So it is at the end of the year, at the end of the age, but it kicks off a period of time where you were to prepare yourself for the day of atonement. The trumpets were to "wake you up". In that sense it reminds me of the Lord's parable: Matthew 25:6 “At midnight the cry rang out: ‘Here’s the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!’ It also reminds me of the parable of the servants who were given talents to invest Matthew 25:19 “After a long time the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them. Because the day of atonement is the settling of accounts with the Lord. During these ten days before hand we are supposed to reflect on what we have done. The trumpets are supposed to wake us up, alert us to the coming of the king, and remind us to prepare to meet our God.

My question is this -- Is this current situation we are in where there is a worldwide declaration to do no regular work, is this the beginning of the Festival of Trumpets signaling the end of the age, and are we now supposed to be sounding the trumpets? We have been told to leave the church assemblies, is this the Lord telling us to "go out to meet Him"? Is the collapse of the world's economy a food offering to God?

If the Day of Atonement hasn't been fulfilled in Christ, then wouldn't our Atonement be incomplete? Do you not believe your sins have been fully forgiven in the perfect sacrifice of Jesus?

And what about those who haven't received Christ?

Christians will receive a reward, our work will be tested by fire. We all (all those whose names are written in the book of life) will appear before the Judgement seat of Christ. That judgement seat refers to the day of Atonement.

So yes, when the Lord died for us on the cross He made atonement for our sins, this gave us access to the Father, it brought us into the new creation where we could now work together with Christ, and at the end of this age we will have to make account of what we did with the talents the Lord entrusted us with.

So then to answer your questions -- 1. Yes, it would indicate that our atonement is in two different categories. The first being sins which the Lord paid, the second being referred to in many different ways but alluded to when Paul said "work out your own salvation with fear and trembling" and 2. Yes, I feel that on the Lord's cross his death was a full atonement for our sins which we could not have paid for.

Joel 1:14 Sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly, gather the old men and all the inhabitants of the land unto the house of Jehovah your God, and cry unto Jehovah.

I believe this solemn assembly refers to a festival day, the Feast of Trumpets. I get this from what Joel then says following this.

15 Alas

Alas. —The exclamation is repeated three times in the LXX. and Vulg., thus giving occasion to Jeremy Taylor’s comment: “When the prophet Joel was describing the formidable accidents in the day of the Lord’s judgment, and the fearful sentence of an angry judge, he was not able to express it, but stammered like a child, or an amazed imperfect person. Ellicot’s commentary

for the day! for the day of Jehovah is at hand, and as destruction from the Almighty shall it come.

The Feast of Trumpets is “is the entranceway into the ‘Days of Awe.’ The blasts of the shofar are our wake-up call to repent before it is too late. Even those of us who have received salvation need to be shaken out of our complacency and pushed to higher levels in Messiah” h ttps://www.jewishvoice.org/learn/prophetic-nature-fall-feasts

The Feast of Trumpets foreshadows this event. It kicks off the “days of awe” and it is a wake up call before it is too late. This is a day of rest, it is a day to blow trumpets and offer sacrifices. The trumpet was sounded to indicate t he Lord’s coming as a conquering king. It is a day of trumpets, these trumpets announce the soon arrival of the coming king and conclude with the voice of an archangel and the blast of God’s shofar, and the dead in Christ rise first, and then those of us who remain. Jesus said that He would return and when He did we would need to settle accounts with Him. This settling of accounts begins after this day. The feast of trumpets announces His return. It is also the resumption of Daniel’s prophecy of the 70 weeks. So then we will see Israel sign the peace treaty during this day and sacrifice the red heifer to dedicate the building of the third temple.

Then in 2:1

2 Blow ye the trumpet in Zion , and sound an alarm in my holy mountain; let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of Jehovah cometh, for it is nigh at hand;

This is why I feel the solemn assembly refers to the Festival of Trumpets. This will be a shadow of the end of the age, the period of time indicating the day of the Lord is at hand. Then again in verse 15:

15 Blow the trumpet in Zion , sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly;

This is the festival of trumpets. This time we blow the trumpet to let the world know God is gracious and merciful, we are calling a fast to abstain from all fleshly appetites.

16 gather the people, sanctify the assembly, assemble the old men, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts; let the bridegroom go forth from his chamber, and the bride out of her closet.

So I feel the book of Joel describes the festival of trumpets and when I read Joel it seems to me he is describing what we are seeing today with the Coronavirus

I believe He has completed/fulfilled the Feast of Atonement. Our salvation is complete......it is up to individuals as to whether they accept that or not (just as His work on the Cross fulfilled Passover....and the gift of the Holy Spirit fulfilled Pentecost....as you posted).

Luke 24:44 ~ Then he said, “When I was with you before, I told you that everything written about me in the law of Moses and the prophets and in the Psalms must be fulfilled.”

Matthew 5:18 ~ For I tell you truly, until heaven and earth pass away, not a single jot, not a stroke of a pen, will disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished

The Feast of Yom Terah; Trumpets, closely matches the great and terrible Day of the Lords fiery wrath, as Joel 2:1-11 and 30-31 describes.
This year it falls on September 19-20th
In chapter 1 he talks about an event that precedes it. He describes it as an infestation in 4 waves, comparing it to locusts and caterpillars, but it can't be locusts because he says they come from the North whereas locusts come from the South. What this infestation does is completely destroy the economy of an agricultural society. It also causes the meal offerings and drink offerings to be withholden from the house of Jehovah. That is when they realize the day of the Lord is near, that is when they call for the solemn assembly. There is a fire and that is when he says to blow the trumpet. In front of the fire it is the garden of eden, behind it a desolate wilderness. He then describes them as a great people, like a devouring army. This army comes on rapidly like horses, they can get into every nook and cranny, and no place is safe from them. He says that we all march in a line, no one pushes on another, this is our defense against this enemy yet they still break through (a pretty nice description of social distancing). And he describes them as leaping about like hotspots in a fire.

So he describes this army as locusts, worms, caterpillars, coming in four waves that devours up the economy, he calls them a "people" similar to the Biblical references to ants and bees as a people. They follow the Lord's command, they are like a thief, they move with the speed of horses, they jump from one hot spot to another, and they get into everywhere.

Numbers 29:1 “‘On the first day of the seventh month hold a sacred assembly and do no regular work. It is a day for you to sound the trumpets.

So it is at the end of the year, at the end of the age, but it kicks off a period of time where you were to prepare yourself for the day of atonement. The trumpets were to "wake you up". Because the day of atonement is the settling of accounts with the Lord. During these ten days before hand we are supposed to reflect on what we have done. Interesting. Glad you have brought up this topic. Now I believe the last 3 festivals (Trumpets, Day of Atonement, & Tabernacles) have yet to come. I see you also think that the feast of Tabernacles is to come later, (millennium (Zech. 14: 16 7 Rev. 21: 3).

The festival of trumpets herald the repenting of Israel just before the Priest would go into the Holy of Holies (once a year) to seek National Atonement. (Lev. 23: 26 - 32)

This will be fulfilled, I believe in the tribulation. In Rev. 8 we see the Lord at the altar of incense, depicting the time for Him to bring vengeance upon His enemies and atonement for His land and people. (Deut. 32: 43, Dan. 9: 24)

It is only the High priest who can summon the trumpets, and thus we see that it is the Lord who is sending fire to be sent to the earth. (Rev. 8: 5, Luke 12: 49)

My view is that all of Joels graphic prophesies are about the one event- the great and terrible Day of the Lords fiery wrath. And the situation soon after that Day, when all His righteous people will be gathered into all of the holy Land. His Spirit will then be poured upon them. Joel 2:28-29
Locusts and soldiers are all metaphors used to describe the sheer scale of what the Lord will send upon the earth.
ONLY a Coronal Mass Ejection, an explosion of the suns surface of an unprecedented magnitude, will literally fulfill all the effects described.

It is what will happen, we have been warned and when it does; all will know it is from God. Revelation 6:17

I would liken that "Great and terrible day of the Lord's wrath" to the day of atonement. I would think the Tribulation begins with the UN approving the peace treaty with Israel, the "peace and prosperity" plan. (Daniel's prophecy of 70 weeks was about the restoration of Jerusalem, there is a gap from Jesus crucifixion in the 69th week to the 70th week which I would say begins with this peace treaty giving authority over Jerusalem to the Jews and which is approved by the many, the UN). Immediately preceding this we see Joel 1 and a description of this coronavirus. Chapter 2 is the Festival of trumpets, the perilous times in which this treaty is signed.

The next book, Amos describes the period "2 years before the great earthquake" which I also would speculate refers to the midst of the 7 years. The opening of the 6th seal.

Amos begins with a list of the sins that God is going to judge. He then lists all the times previously when He had taken actions that should have caused us to repent and return to God but we didn't. The context is to "prepare to meet thy God" which is also the point of the ten days from the festival of trumpets to the day of Atonement.

Then he says Amos 5:9 With a blinding flash he destroys the stronghold and brings the fortified city to ruin. I would think that blinding flash is the coronal mass ejection you are talking about. Compare this with Isaiah 29:5 But your many enemies will become like fine dust, the ruthless hordes like blown chaff. Suddenly, in an instant, 6 the Lord Almighty will come with thunder and earthquake and great noise, with windstorm and tempest and flames of a devouring fire. The "ruthless horde" which Joel compares to 4 waves of insect infestation, a people, thieves that can get everywhere and jump from one hotspot to another. Here Isaiah describes them as a "fine dust". Also, Joel said our defense against them was to all march in a line without anyone pushing or thrusting on another and yet they still break through our defenses. This seems like a remarkably accurate description of the Covid-19 pandemic. This precedes the great earthquake which Amos refers to and which the 6th seal in Revelation refers to. That "blinding flash" of (coronal mass ejection?) could be the "flames of a devouring fire".

Surely that would be for a single day, but the tribulation/Great tribulation is 7 years.
The Revelation Seals, Trumpets and Bows are a series of events.
The first five Seals are open now, proved by the fifth Seal being all the martyrs since Stephen.
The Sixth Seal worldwide disaster is next, but it isn't until the Temple is desecrated by The Anti-Christ, that the Great Tribulation of the 7 Trumpets and 7 Bowls, will happen. In the final 3 1/2 years before Jesus Returns.

I do not see Covid 19 as anything to do with the end time events. It is simply another plague, as part of what the Fourth Horseman, Revelation 6:7-8, does to mankind.
Then he says Amos 5:9 With a blinding flash he destroys the stronghold and brings the fortified city to ruin. I would think that blinding flash is the coronal mass ejection you are talking about.
I have a list of 117 scriptures that will be literally fulfilled by a CME explosion of the suns surface. Amos 5:9 is jus one of them.
Note; that Amos 1 and 2:1-5 all say the Lord will send fire to destroy His enemies.

Can you share the list? Also as for Covid-19 and the end times this may be the "perilous times" in which the peace treaty is made that is referred to. We will see.

This virus has done some things that were completely unimaginable just 12 months ago. The reason Trump's peace plan was considered a joke is because no one saw Palestinians, Iran, Syria or Russia going for it. But as a result of Covid-19 oil has crashed to 0. No one could have imagined such a thing. It turns out all of the support for Palestinian statehood comes from oil exporting nations (Syria is not an oil exporting nation, but they are propped up by them).

But that is not the only issue. The US stock market does not reflect the dramatic fall in the economy. The single biggest indicator that Warren Buffet looks at is valuation, and the valuations are off the chart. The reason is that the Fed has gone all in, buying up $3 trillion in corporate debt. This is not reflected in our debt because it is valued as an asset. If we didn't do that the bankruptcies would be catastrophic right now and every single bank's balance sheet would be red lining. As it is the mortgage defaults are easily on par with the mortgage crisis at this point, and this pandemic has only just begun. As precarious as the situation is, the entire world depends on the Fed doing this because of the importance of the dollar. The currencies of the entire world's economy depends on people trusting that dollars have value. ‘They will throw their silver into the streets, and their gold will be treated as a thing unclean. Their silver and gold will not be able to deliver them in the day of the Lord’s wrath. It will not satisfy their hunger or fill their stomachs, for it has caused them to stumble into sin. Ezekiel 7:19

So then in a stunning twist, unimaginable 12 months ago, the entire world is at the mercy of Donald Trump. Does his reelection depend on delivering on a promise to get a peace treaty for Israel? Would he do something totally reckless to get his way? These are perilous times.

Obadiah 11 On the day you stood aloof while strangers carried off his wealth and foreigners entered his gates and cast lots for Jerusalem, you were like one of them. 12 You should not gloat over your brother in the day of his misfortune, nor rejoice over the people of Judah in the day of their destruction, nor boast so much in the day of their trouble. 13 You should not march through the gates of my people in the day of their disaster, nor gloat over them in their calamity in the day of their disaster, nor seize their wealth in the day of their disaster. 14 You should not wait at the crossroads to cut down their fugitives, nor hand over their survivors in the day of their trouble. 15 “The day of the Lord is near for all nations. As you have done, it will be done to you; your deeds will return upon your own head.

The Day of the Lord is near for all nations. Prior to the day of the Lord something will happen to all nations to repay them "as you have done it will be done to you". What did they do? They stood aloof on the day of misfortune, they gloated, they rejoiced, marched through the gates, seized their wealth and waited at the crossroads to cut down their fugitives. Reminds me of the mortgage crisis where people were able to seize homes in bankruptcy. The banks stood aloof after engineering the crisis, seized their wealth, and waited for people in distress to auction off their assets.

Well the shoe is on the other foot now. Mortgage delinquencies are on par with the mortgage crisis but this time we are talking about commercial property that will not be rented again. The bank will be left with assets that will be worthless. Also, States are passing laws outlawing foreclosures as they don't want millions of homeless. So tough luck banks. Also, we have seen a rash of bankruptcies from the likes of Hertz, and others. This will hit the auto industry in several ways. Tens of thousands of cars will hit the used car market at exactly the same time as 40 million people have lost their jobs and will be defaulting on their car payments at the same time as corporations across the nation will cutting down or eliminating fleets of cars. The banks will be holding worthless cars they can't sell at auction, worthless deeds they can't rent and will not be allowed to foreclose on homes of people who aren't paying. But it is worse than that. The oil industry has collapsed. These companies all borrow money for drilling, exploration and development based on estimated reserves in the ground. Those reserves are used to collateralize the loans. Collateral that is now worth 0, it costs more to bring the oil up than it is worth.

I agree, the infestation in 4 waves is only one way in which the economy is hit. There is going to be fire. I suspect that the fires this coming year will dwarf those of last year which if I remember were incorrectly referred to as "Biblical". Nope, the first that we are about to see will be Biblical, those were simply the warning.

For those of you not comfortable with centigrade, 50 degrees C = 122 degrees F. And this is just May, hottest temperatures are generally in July.

The peace treaty described in Daniel 9:27, cannot happen yet, as the two sides to it are not in place yet. The new nation of Beulah and the Leader of the One World Govt.

The fire is alight, nothing will stop it coming to earth 2 Esdras 16:15 [Bible Apocrypha]

The following 117 Bible verses describe the literal effects of the Coronal Mass Ejection that the Lord will use to carry out His prophesied Day of vengeance and wrath against His enemies, the godless peoples and nations that attack the State of Israel. The following 117 Bible verses describe the literal effects of the Coronal Mass Ejection that the Lord will use to carry out His prophesied Day of vengeance and wrath against His enemies, the godless peoples and nations that attack the State of Israel. It will strike earth at midday, Zephaniah 2:4 and virtually depopulate the entire Middle East. Ezekiel 30:1-5
Thank you for this list.

Strike at Midday, I assume you mean in the Middle East as there are 24 hours at any given moment on Earth. That does suggest that the US will be protected from this blast. If we understand Zephaniah as referring to Midday for Jerusalem. If the entire Middle East is depopulated it should be pretty damaging to Moscow and Western Russia as well.

I think "abandoned" would be a better word than "depopulated". I think it is a stretch to say that either of these verse refer to a coronal mass ejection. It seems like Ezekiel is talking about the sword, and "abandoned" could mean they fled before an approaching army.

Isaiah 30:26a The sun will shine with seven times its normal strength, like seven days in one. The flash of a CME explosion on the suns surface of an unprecedented magnitude, directed toward earth, consisting of the entire spectrum of light waves to microwaves.

Isaiah 30:26a & Rev 6:12b The moon will shine blood red, as brightly as the sun. This will be the thermoluminescent reaction of superheated hydrogen and the lunar regolith. [moon dust, consisting of a variety of oxide elements, mainly Aluminum Oxide]
7 times as bright would be a super flare. I don't think we have any evidence of such a thing on Earth, but we have observed them in other stars. If we had one we would expect the following:
  • Damage to or loss of all artificial satellites (this could explain the verse about the stars falling from the sky)
  • Airline passengers on trans-polar flights would receive high radiation doses from the energetic particles (as would any astronauts or the crew of the International Space Station)
  • Significant depletion of the ozone layer with increased risk of cataracts, sunburn and skin cancer, as well as damage to growing plants. The recovery time would be of the order of months to years. In the strongest cases there would be severe damage to the biosphere, especially to primary photosynthesis in the oceans. (This could explain why the place is abandoned at midday, without the ozone life would be deadly for a few years in the sun)
  • Failure of the electricity distribution system (as in the March 1989 geomagnetic storm), possibly with damage to transformers and switching equipment
  • Loss of power to the cooling systems of spent fuel rods stored at nuclear power stations (This would be scary -- another Chernobyl)
  • Loss of most radio communication because of increased ionisation in the atmosphere

This really helps explain many verses in the Bible that have perplexed me. Thanks

Yes this massive explosion on the suns surface will happen at 12 noon Middle Eastern time.
Looking at a globe, we can see that Africa; Zephaniah 2:14, Europe, Western Russia and India will get the initial flash and the EMP strike, but for the Americas, China, Australia and South east Asia, it will be night time. The far Northern regions, like Scandinavia, may not be too badly affected, as it will happen during their winter, I believe.

Abandoned? I do not get that impression from prophesies like: Isaiah 66:15, Psalms 37:9-10 & 20, Malachi 4:3, Jeremiah 25:33, Isaiah 13:12
The Sword of the Lord is a metaphor for any means He uses to punish His enemies.

As Bible prophecy does tell us that a Coronal Mass Ejection, an explosion of the sun’s surface is what the Lord will use on His Day of wrath, Isaiah 30:26a, Psalms 50:1-2, Malachi 4:1, +, we should know what a CME is and what it can do.
Briefly: On the Appointed Day, Isaiah 10:17, the sun will explode out a huge, earth directed mass of superheated hydrogen plasma. The initial super bright flash and the Electro- Magnetic Pulse will arrive here within 8 minutes, causing armed nuke weapons to explode, Jeremiah 49:35, and all electrical systems will be destroyed. The EMP microwave effect will also cause tectonic plate movement, Deuteronomy 32:22 - severe worldwide earthquakes.
The sun will be darkened by being obscured by the approaching mass and the moon will shine bright red from the reflection of the sun being seven times brighter and then by the thermoluminescent reaction.
24 hours after the explosion, the main mass will strike the earth, directly onto the Middle East, Zephaniah 2:4, wiping out the entire population, excepting a small remnant in Jerusalem. Isaiah 29:1-4, Jeremiah 10:18, Psalms 97:3-5, Zephaniah 1:14-18, Romans 9:27
[God's perfect solution to the ME crisis]
But as the earth is rotating and moving at 66,000mph on its orbital track, it quickly moves away and the rest of the world won't be so badly affected. The survivor's will form a One World Government, but we Christians will gather and live in all of the regenerated holy Land. Ezekiel 34:11-31, Psalms 107, Isaiah 35:1-10

The great Day of the Lord's wrath; the Sixth Seal, will come upon everyone the whole world over. Luke 21:34-35 Proved by how Revelation 6:15 covers every person. Isaiah 24:1-2, Zephaniah 3:8, 2 Peter 3:7
