Hey, did any of you know the bible says we have female angels?
Zechariah 5:9 Then lifted I up mine eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came out two women, and the wind was in their wings; for they had wings like the wings of a stork: and they lifted up the ephah between the earth and the heaven. (KJV)

How about God having horns coming out of His hand?
Habakkuk 3:4 And his brightness was as the light; he had horns coming out of his hand: and there was the hiding of his power. (KJV)

And then there is this cannibalism thingy.
Jeremiah 19:9 And I will cause them to eat the flesh of their sons and the flesh of their daughters, and they shall eat every one the flesh of his friend in the siege and straitness, wherewith their enemies, and they that seek their lives, shall straiten them. (KJV)

Or, how bout Isaiah saying there is no God twice?
Isaiah 44:8 Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any. (KJV)
Isaiah 45:14 Thus saith the Lord, The labour of Egypt, and merchandise of Ethiopia and of the Sabeans, men of stature, shall come over unto thee, and they shall be thine: they shall come after thee; in chains they shall come over, and they shall fall down unto thee, they shall make supplication unto thee, saying, Surely God is in thee; and there is none else, there is no God. (KJV)

Did you know that in Ecclesiastes we find that there are no women who posses wisdom?
Ecclesiastes 7:25 I applied mine heart to know, and to search, and to seek out wisdom, and the reason of things, and to know the wickedness of folly, even of foolishness and madness:
Eccl:7:26 And I find more bitter than death the woman, whose heart is snares and nets, and her hands as bands: whoso pleaseth God shall escape from her; but the sinner shall be taken by her. 7:28 Which yet my soul seeketh, but I find not: one man among a thousand have I found; but a woman among all those have I not found.
(KJV) Really??? Bee's Knees Louise!

Interestingly, I always thought verse 28 ended with "but a woman of established virtue would not be one of such a set." I must have preached that one wrong 2 or 3 times on mothers day. And there's bunches more head scratchers if you wanna go down that rabbit hole with me. I'm willing if you are...

The Hebrew, the LXX, and every English translation I've checked says the same.

How about God having horns coming out of His hand?
Habakkuk 3:4 And his brightness was as the light; he had horns coming out of his hand: and there was the hiding of his power. (KJV)

That's a literally correct translation of the Hebrew, although "rays" would be better, and most modern translations have that.

(KJV)

Regarding the Zech verse, angles do not have bodies, or gender, they are spirit beings. They can take forms.
Regarding Hab (3:4) God is also a spirit and does not have a body or a gender the verse is an anthropomorphism.
Regarding the other Scripture verses you have listed. I would suggest that anyone who has a question about them should look them up on one or more of the Bible Commentaries available on line for free.
It is very important not to take any verse out of context or attempt to understand what God is saying without using a commentary to find the meaning.

I'm not taking anything out of context my friend.

Oh, I have no doubt about what you found Radagast.

What, exactly, is your purpose in this thread?
The purpose? To simply place scriptures in front of every one that makes you want to ponder. Hey, I'm not trolling, or wanting to make trouble. God forbid...

That means no god beside God. You're misreading the passage.
That's not what it says! How could I be misreading the passage? I thought the Bible said what it means, and means what it says.

How come nobody took a stab at this one?
Ecclesiastes 7:25 I applied mine heart to know, and to search, and to seek out wisdom, and the reason of things, and to know the wickedness of folly, even of foolishness and madness: 7:26 And I find more bitter than death the woman, whose heart is snares and nets, and her hands as bands: whoso pleaseth God shall escape from her; but the sinner shall be taken by her. 7:28 Which yet my soul seeketh, but I find not: one man among a thousand have I found; but a woman among all those have I not found. Well, the scripture in Zech seems pretty gender specific to me. And I don't have much trust in commentary except for that of older baptistic commentators from pre to early 20th century. I am pretty well versed if I do say so myself, and trying my best not to boast.

(KJV)
Those are ungodly angels. They have wings like the wings of a stork. Storks are not kosher. Not only that but God's approved angels are spirit so they wouldn't have natural bird wings. Not only that but every description of God's sent angels are described as men, not female.

And, what is in that ephah? Not something good. For all anyone could know.. the female angels as well as what or who is in the ephah, could represent the Jezebel spirit.
How about God having horns coming out of His hand?
Habakkuk 3:4 And his brightness was as the light; he had horns coming out of his hand: and there was the hiding of his power. (KJV)
That is not literal.

Horns is associated with anointing power. Like the healing in his wings. That isn't literal. The Jewish prayer shawl, the garment that Jesus wore.. the idiom for the tassels are called the wings. When Paul said that he made tents. That's an idiom for prayer shawl.

It makes sense because he taught about the men and women having coverings for their head. And, it makes sense because he was a person of prayer.
(KJV)
The cities were protected by walls. Anyone who attacked would strategize to close the gates that none could get out. And when the food ran out.. the people began seeing the people as food.

So did the Donner party.
(KJV)
What about the scripture that says 'perfect peace'.. In the Hebrew it is shalom shalom. And Jesus says verily verily. There are many such scriptures.

The real interest would be to find out why they did it.
He is King Solomon, who had many gentile wives. He is commenting about them. Their hearts are snares. They don't possess God's wisdom.

The godly virtuous women are described in Proverbs 31.. the godly woman possesses God's wisdom.
Interestingly, I always thought verse 28 ended with "but a woman of established virtue would not be one of such a set."
I must have preached that one wrong 2 or 3 times on mothers day.
I myself have turned down a few offers to preach but I declined because I didn't feel myself to be qualified in that I might say the wrong thing. The apostle Paul told Timothy that he couldn't afford to be wrong. That he had to study and show himself approved unto God.. in order to recognize and correct those who are wrong. Instead of heaping wrong upon wrong.
And there's bunches more head scratchers if you wanna go down that rabbit hole with me. I'm willing if you are...
I wouldn't consider getting God's wisdom to be compared to Alice going down that rabbit hole.. maybe you didn't mean that but that's where the phrase comes from. But I might stop by and add to your next post whatever I can.

So you're not trying to attack the KJV, you're trying to attack Scripture?
In fact, the passage is quite clear.
You said it, not me.
So how am I attacking scripture by quoting it?

When the carnal mind tries to figure out verses, it can just be a RIOT.

Look at this verse.Isaiah 44:8..."is there any GOD beside me"....God replies, there is no god.

CONTEXT: God is saying......"I ALONE". = GOD.

Yet when a carnal mind reads this verse, they think...."ah, there is no god at all".

so funny.

Anyone who uses the KJV had better be an expert in olde Englysh or else s/he should be using a modern translation (of which there are many good ones). IMHO it makes people feel holy and religious to translate in their minds what the Bible is actually saying.

Nobody speaks or even thinks in this archaic language.

No my friend, I assure you I'm not looking at these with a carnal mind.
I wouldn't consider getting God's wisdom to be compared to Alice going down that rabbit hole.. maybe you didn't mean that but that's where the phrase comes from. But I might stop by and add to your next post whatever I can.
I think Lewis coined the phrase quite well however, don't you? I look forward to you're continued participation in this discussion. You seem to have a thoughtful mind about you.

So let me post some more interesting scriptures.

Genesis 5:2 Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created. (KJV) Called them both (Adam & Eve) Adam?

Genesis 8:11 And the dove came in to him in the evening; and, lo, in her mouth was an olive leaf pluckt off: so Noah knew that the waters were abated from off the earth. (KJV) Wasn't that the all famous olive branch?

Let me stop for one second... I want to take just a minute to introduce you to my own life if you don't mind. I am a born again child of God. That happened in June 1967. I can take you right to the place and remember the circumstances quite vividly. I'm a called preacher, and have been a Christian apologist since 1995. And since that date, I have been answering Biblical questions on The Parsons Corner ~ Ask The Preacher website, and at local churches and radio. Also since, I've pastored 3 different churches. I'm the 5th generation of Gospel preachers in my family and was trained by my father, grandfather, and great grandfather along with several other seasoned Baptist ministers.

I know the scriptures and the precepts thereof. I know my Bible...

I also know that when we prayed using the model prayer the Lord gave us from Matthew & Luke, the word of the Lord said Gods will was to be done where? It was ON earth, not IN earth. Yet look what the scriptures say right now.

Matthew 6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. (KJV) And that the like passages in Luke used to be the same. Luke 11:2 And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth. (KJV) These two models only used to have the difference of Debts in Matthew, and Trespasses in Luke.

I wonder why I remember these this way? Again, these particular scriptures are just the tip of the iceberg that are vexing (Daniel 7:25) my spirit.

Yet there is no other English Bible that has the Received Text (the original manuscripts) as their basis. The rest, including the NKJV, are based on the Alexandrian manuscripts, not the RT.

Most modern translations are sadly corrupted. Bible Corruptions

There is plenty of commentary on the only English Bible I trust (the KJB) from great theologians such Ellicott, Barnes, Meyers, Poole etc. All can be found on BibleHub.

Why are you trying so obviously to slander the King James Bible without even giving a bit of research into these verses?
I haven't ever, nor will I use those other perversions BC. I have been a King James man from the beginning of my ministry. I'm not out to slander the KJV, except that the KJV we have now isn't the KJV we had before. Let me finish explaining please.

That is good to hear but your original post comes off as anti-KJB to me, perhaps a bit of explanation as to your goal with the thread is would be good to know? Please do finish explaining what you mean by the KJV we have now is not the KJV we had before.

Edit: I read a post in your profile that indicates you think that the KJV has been supernaturally altered by ?Satan?Demons? The coming antichrist?

(Amos8 site post I saw)
On that site it lists supposed supernatural alterations to the KJV but gives no evidence of anything?? Wheres the proof?

Edit 2: also I briefly looked at the amos8 forums which openly deny the flat earth and are pushing the globe earth deception...if they deny such things that have much proof as the flat earth how can anyone trust their claims without evidence that the KJV has been supernaturally altered. Looks like another end times deception by Satan's ministers, propagating not one deception but possibly many.

Your reasoning is fallacious. It is false to say that the Received Texts are "the original manuscripts". In Christianity, the Textus Receptus (Latin: "received text") is an edition of the Greek texts of the New Testament [only] established by Erasmus in the 16th century. There have been many more manuscripts discovered in the last 400 years; they are used by scholars to give us the most accurate translations that we have.

Erasmus’s Greek Testament stands in line behind the King James Version; yet it rests upon only a few manuscripts, none of which is earlier than the tenth century. Erasmus did not have access to all of the manuscripts translators can use today

The King James is nothing more than a translation created 400+ years ago; even the translators said their work was not definitive.

pescadore, that has nothing to do with this discussion, and this is me ignoring your attempts to rile me.

I'll post more on this OP when I get the opportunity folks.

You posted this...

"Yet there is no other English Bible that has the Received Text (the original manuscripts) as their basis. The rest, including the NKJV, are based on the Alexandrian manuscripts, not the RT."

You post about the King James Version and the Received Text and then say my response about those very things has nothing to do with this discussion.

Not listening to others is nothing to be proud of.
