Thanks for posting that; now I have two versions to listen to. :)

What I also like; in addition to a great melody and arrangement; is that it's so uplifting--for a secular song.

Not for me. I'd say that it would be found in the works of (in no particular order) The Who, Humble Pie, The Animals, Zep, Head East, James Gang, Jeff Beck, Johnny Winter, Creme, The Doors, The Beatles, Allman Bros., Skynerd, The Stones, Buffalo Springfield...

I think the best classic rock song would need to be Styx "Show Me the Way". So true about finding one's purpose and truth in life.
