A photo of a crowded flight posted on Twitter by a cardiologist returning from the New York City area may hint at the difficulties of social distancing as air travel picks up again.

Dr. Ethan Weiss tweeted a photo Saturday showing what appears to be a full United Airlines flight from Newark, New Jersey, to San Francisco. Though passengers are wearing masks, he said the crowded cabin runs counter to United's assurances that it would leave middle seats empty in order to promote social distancing to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

Businesses that choose to reopen have mandatory guidelines they must follow to help stop the spread of Covid-19. For instance, restaurants need to sit groups six feet from each other, tables should be actively disinfected, employees should wear masks and more. But how many shops and restaurants were following those rules? Billionaire entrepreneur and Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban wanted to find out, so he hired secret shoppers to spread out across Dallas and evaluate. Unfortunately, only 4 percent of all businesses they evaluated were fully compliant, according to a study Cuban released on his blog.

All of these ideas that we'll be able to open up gradually, or in a controlled way, or that there will be a cure. They are simply like a dream where a hungry man dreams he is eating a big meal only to awake and realize it was just a dream. Until there is a vaccine for 300 million people in the US we will have this problem.

Also, pretending that Covid19 is the problem is also a dream. These strains mutate with virtually every new contagious person. The more people that get it the more mutations. It is reasonable to guesstimate that 20 million people have already contracted this and therefore there are many different strains that any vaccine that comes out in 6 months is not going to make you immune to. It may offer some protection, but not immunity.

Latest news is that already after only a few days of partial opening Germany's r value is up over 1. In other words every infected person is passing on the infection to more than one other person.
Germany does NOT have control.

China is now getting increasing number again - even from Wuhan; South Korea is getting more again.... Nobody "has control" over this virus. Nobody has control over the annual flu surges. The concept of having "control" over the virus is absurd. It means you can turn it on and turn it off. We need a reality check!

Or do you mean, the number of infections, hospitalisations, intensive care patients, deaths, and chronic sufferers of side-effects is "acceptable?" or "manageable?" In both cases these would reduce living people to nothing more than statistics of "units of production and consumption."

Which is exactly what all the emphasis on saving the economy rather than saving people boils down to. It is the dehumanisation of human beings.

China had a dozen cases more or less. They quickly isolated them. South Korea had some night club cases. They isolate, then track, trace, test and isolate contacts.

NY has done a better job of getting their infection rate down than anywhere else in the country. Look at the numbers. NY state had no control over closing airlines or travel from other countries. They have 2 international airports and 1 national one. The virus came to the US primarily from Europe, so primarily through NY.

As a result they were on the front lines, closed down first, had the highest numbers, but has had the best success bar none at bringing those numbers down compared to any other state in the US. Judge righteous judgement.

I'm willing to acknowledge that NYC specifically is uniquely vulnerable to COVID transmission in ways that other areas might not be.

I used to sail on the ocean. I had a job pulling people out of the sea who had capsized, and these sailors were sailing during the winter. We only had a couple of minutes to get to them and pull them out before they died. You learn that in a storm you have to face it head on. If you turn to one side or the other the waves will flip the boat. If you run from the storm it will drive you onto the rocks. So you go head into the storm. It may seem scary, like threading the eye of a needle, but it is the only way to go. Money is a graven image, an idol. This deadly virus will destroy the economy which in turn will make this idol worthless, something you will throw away. And when you do it will be soaked in blood because before it became worthless you might have been able to save lives with it.

23 He will also send you rain for the seed you sow in the ground, and the food that comes from the land will be rich and plentiful. There is a lot to rejoice in. My daughter’s middle name is SeeSon, it is based on the verse in Hebrews that says “but we see Jesus”. This is what we need to keep our focus on. Yes there will be a great slaughter, but we see Jesus.

Just follow me, surely you won't die, and she fell prey to the lie and sin and death entered the world.

You going to listen to Satan one more time, and thereby help him set up his kingdom in your land so that you don't die?

It is appointed for every man to die once, but the Christian has no fear in that, because through Christ the second death holds no power over us.

It's all about balance. We don't idolize anything in this world, not even the flesh.

Firstly, it's not the virus that destroys the economy. It's not the virus that destroys the lungs, either. It's the overreaction to the virus that destroys both the lungs and the economy. The immune response destroys the lungs. The fear-mongers destroy the economy.

Secondly, everything about the economy is defined by the money. Money is the power to motivate people to solve a problem. It has the ability to solve problems that can be solved by people. It has no ability to solve problems that can't be solved by people. Destroy the money, and you destroy the ability to motivate people to work toward the common good. A wrecked economy looks like chaos, because people are motivated to fend only for themselves. Civilization can only happen when people work for each other. You call it a worthless idol, but the fact is that if this disease has a human solution, then the economy is absolutely necessary for arriving at that solution.

Because...if we go back to being hunter-gatherers, all of us, then who will make the vaccine?
