Does anyone have an informed opinion regarding Chuck Missler's bible commentaries? I have been studying with his "Learn the Bible in 24 Hours" and have access to his other, more in-depth commentaries, and before I go far I just wonder what the general consensus is for his commentaries, if there is one. I have tried searching online for reviews of his commentaries but have pretty much come up empty.

I have also been searching for a bible commentary that comes from an "old earth" point of view in order to better resolve my take on the OEC vs YEC arguments. Unfortunately I have not yet come up with anything. Can anyone recommend a bible commentary that distills both the Old and New Testaments with an OEC perspective?

Chuck has made an enormous contribution to bible knowledge.

He was a very humble brother with huge knowledge of the Word.

I am not suggesting agreement with all his conclusions but my encounters with him were very warm.

I know this can be argued, but I consider we were served well for a period by Derek Prince, then Chuck - I wonder who will be next?

your sort of shooting yourself in the foot with OEC and exposition. Most bible expositors are not OEC. Because it literally does damage to the text to adhere to gap. Now it used to be perfectly acceptable in like early 90's for expositors to adhere to gap, but since there is so much info out there on it's problems, most expositors just outright deny OEC. Chuck Missler does as well. Some of his stuff may talk about gap but his newer stuff won't. Other expositors that go through the Bible are chuck smith, jon courson, David Guzik. But again they are all YEC. But here are some links:

but if you are looking for OEC arguments, I would look up OEC on wikipedia and read the "for further reading section": Old Earth creationism - Wikipedia

but when I was debating evolution/creation there is really no GOOD way to defend OEC without damaging the literalness of the Bible. So expositors who are in general literalist (fundamentalist), will deny OEC.
