North Korea testing, quarantining for COVID-19, still says no cases: WHO representative

With all the hype over S Korea, Singapore, and Taiwan...I thought it was worth discussing the most successful Covid19 pandemic story.

N. Korea.

Thoughts?
Oppressive and very closed governments can quickly force people to submit and very effectively stop a epidemic from ever happening through any and all means also the advantage of being a closed nation during a pandemic is very few come in and those who do come in are highly monitored. I'm sure their management of covid is not something other nations are comfortable with and I doubt it hasn't penetrated its boarders.

Actually on second thought the only countries that could be without a case would be ones where there is very little to no travel into and out of the country. It would take an absolute dictatorshi . . . oh. Hmm, maybe.

There are plenty of cases in countries that have travel restrictions.

How do you explain that the locations that have the least restrictions are the ones with the least cases and mortality?

I have some New Mexico ocean front property for sale. Are you interested?

Are you saying you don't trust the WHO?

"As of 2 April, 709 people - 11 foreigners and 698 nationals - have been tested for COVID-19. There is no report of a COVID-19 case. There are 509 people in quarantine – two foreigners and 507 nationals," Dr. Edwin Salvador, the WHO Representative to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), said in an email reply

I trust the WHO, but it seems that there representatives are not there. From the article:

"The WHO, which said it had been receiving “weekly updates” from the health ministry, said that the reclusive country had the capacity to test coronaviruses in its national reference laboratory in the capital Pyongyang."

That does not sound like it is the WHO making the claim of no cases. The WHO is saying that they have had reports of no cases. If the WHO had a presence there then it would be a totally different story.

Their representative is literally making a claim of no cases....

What are you talking about? Don't you believe the WHO?

I somehow missed the last sentence there. It is still highly suspicious. Why so many people in quarantines if there were no cases? The problem with this disease is that it can have up to a two week incubation period. Quarantine of suspected sources is often too late to stop its spread.
