What if the last 2000 yrs were not based upon Jesus Christs birth but rather on 2000 yrs of Christianity , what date would that give us ?
Well, the critical factor in determining when all of the end times prophecies are fulfilled is the generation that sees the Jews back in control of Jerusalem (1967) in the parable of the fig tree.

If you were to base Jesus being 33 years old when Christianity began in Luke 24:44-48, then in that theory, 33 AD +2000 years for Christianity would be sometime in 2033. In keeping with the forum rules though, I am just answering your question regarding speculation, not setting any dates.

What is your intention, to postpone some end time prophecy about 30 years to make it to be still valid?

Scripture clearly points out when the 2,000 year gospel age began although it is hidden in several stories.

Joseph met 2 prisoners while he was in prison, the cup-bearer and the baker. After 3 days the cup-bearer was set free from prison while the baker was impaled on a pole. This story is a prophecy for Jesus on the cross beside the two thieves. One thief called him Lord and went with him to paradise while the other thief perished.

After the cup-bearer was released from prison after 3 days, which is a type for the resurrection, Joseph was in prison for another "two who years," Genesis 41:1. Prophetically "two whole years" represents 2,000 full years for the gospel that began from Jesus resurrection in approximately 30 to 33 AD.

After two whole years Joseph was let out of prison to interpret Pharaoh's dreams and he said there will be 7 years of a harvest followed by 7 years of famine. And Joseph became ruler of all Egypt submitting only to Pharaoh.

This story is prophetic for a great harvest of saints and 7 years of tribulation when Jesus will rule the earth submitting only to his Father in heaven.

Therefore if Jesus was resurrected in 30 to 33 AD, the tribulation will begin in approximately 2030 to 2033 and will end in the 2037 to 2040 time-frame.

There are also 4 blood moons in 2032 and 2033 that will be seen just before the wrath of the Lamb begins in the tribulation. And 3 of these blood moons will be visible over Israel. And these blood moons take place at or near the time of Passover and the feast of Tabernacles.

This fits exactly with what it says in Joel 2:31 and 2:32, when many tribulation saints will call out to Jesus to be saved during the first 2 years of tribulation from 2031 to 2033, just before the wrath of the Lamb begins sometime in 2033, Revelation 6:9-17.

Joel 2:31-32 The sun shall be turned to darkness, and the moon to blood, before the great and awesome day of the LORD comes. (32) And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved. For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be those who escape, as the LORD has said, and among the survivors shall be those whom the LORD calls.

If you want to read more about this approximate time-frame for the tribulation I have written several articles that discuss this topic. The scriptures do not reveal the exact day or hour when the tribulation will begin, however it strongly appears they do reveal when it will be near, Matthew 24:32.

Joseph in prison "two whole years" is prophetic for a 2,000 year gospel age

Is the year when the tribulation ends written in scripture?

There are experts in bible chronology that think we are VERY close to 6000 years since Adam. Ancient Jewish sages have written that since God took 6 days to create, and one day to rest, that man would rule the earth for 6000 years and God would rule for the 7th thousand years. I think man's time is almost up!

Jesus commenced Christianity at the start of His Ministry.
Which was when He was baptized, in 29.5 AD. Proved by Luke 3:1 On the fifteenth year of Emperor Tiberius.
Jesus said that He would work for two 'days' and then receive His reward. Luke 13:32
Two 'days' = 2000 years. Psalms 90:4, 2 Peter 3:8
His reward is to reign as King over the world for the final 1000 years of human history.

Dionysus Exiguus is the one who established the Anno Domini ("Year of our Lord") system that we still use today. As such Dionysus used the year of Christ's birth as Year 1 of the new dating system. So that 1 AD is the year Christ was born, and the year prior being the first year before Christ, or 1 BC. We have since learned that Dionysus was off by a couple years, and so Jesus was born probably between 6 and 4 BC. However, by the time that was figured out we had been using this system for so long that it would be impossible to change the year--and rewrite all the books and change all the dates to conform to the new dating method. So even though the BC/AD system doesn't directly line up with Christ's birth, it is still beneficial.

If we invented a brand new system that covered only the time since Christianity has existed as a distinct religious movement, that would probably mean a new Year 1 sometime in the early-mid 30's AD. Since we don't know how old Jesus was exactly when He was crucified and then rose again (the Gospel of Luke simply says He was "about thirty" when He began His ministry), and we don't know exactly the year of His birth, there's no real way to establish with any certainty His age at His Passion; and thus the year when Christianity can be said to have begun--with the going out of the Apostles into the world.

Meaning that you can subtract ~30 years to the current date if you wanted. Not sure how I feel about it being the 1980's again, except that it's totally radical.

I think it would be more accurate to say that St. John the Baptist began his ministry in the 15th year of the Emperor Tiberius. So going by Luke ch. 3, strictly speaking, we can say when John began his ministry.

I'm not aware of anywhere that mentions how long it was between the time John began his ministry and Jesus was baptized in the Jordan.
