The first case of CoVID-19 was confirmed in Seattle, Washington on Jan. 20/21.

What was the President and the CDC recommending on Feb. 2? What were they recommending on Feb 9th on the day of the parade?
We are talking about NY. Trump gets criticized enough i think. This thread is about NY.

I'm not criticizing the President or the CDC.

Why would the leaders of NYC have more information about the virus so that they would recommend social distancing than the President and the CDC?
Tucker is trying to convince the viewers that the leaders in NYC should have known better than the President and the CDC.

Why did NY boast of having enough medical supplies then, but now they are saying the opposite?

True. What about NY comments on having enough supplies? They are quickly backpedaling on that comment now.

I see your point though, and now my question is this, why is Trump criticized for America not having enough supplies, when New York is not?

There are enough medical supplies. Took alittle to get the manufacturing going. Also as a person who lives in NY I'm actually ashamed at the hoarding of ventilators. We took them (to never use) when harder hit places in the world could use them.

To be honest? I think we need to stop politicizing all of this..

We didn't know until we knew... dems and republicans alike. We are slow to respond because it's a virus, can't really predict them, and how can you feel certain about the response until you are fully informed which just happens to be when your in the thick of it

Were dems demonizing the border closures and more? Yes. But who cares, really? The dems demonize everything that most republicans agree with and vice versa.. I'm just on the republican side this go around although I disagree with some of them too.

Why don't we just stop trying to score political points and make sure when this is over we are still a free country - I think that's whats important. Not political point tallys.

When we give government an inch they take a mile, we can't let it happen. No matter what.

There are not enough medical supplies/PPEs to go around if there were medical providers wouldn't have to reuse respirator masks and ventilators wouldn't be in short supply. Many hospitals were equipped with enough ventilators for normal use but not for the hundreds/thousands of added patients from this pandemic.

They never completely ran out. And it's a shortage because masks are FDA approved medical devices, so no knock offs. But the production now is up, hence why we were told the public shouldn't wear them as being ineffective but now they are saying it's a good idea. As for ventilators I'm talking about the 30,000+ in NY alone who are hoarding them while the rest of the planet cant find any because we bought them all up (to never use).

When she said their 'preparedness was high' again they weren't expecting the numbers of infected people that there would be as high as it's become.

I think if you read some other opinions you'll find that the Trump administration isn't being criticized anymore than the previous administration before his.
Was Obama Responsible for N95 Masks Shortage?
Fact check: Did Obama administration deplete N95 mask stockpile?
Bloomberg - Are you a robot?
A disaster foretold: Shortages of ventilators and other medical supplies have long been warned about

The problem I see for Trump is his constant bragging about how his administration is so much better than all the ones who have come before him. A leader, after 3 yrs. in command can't blame a previous administration for something they did wrong without admitting that they failed to do the same thing.
That would be like Johnny saying to his teacher that he didn't do his science project because 3 years ago his brother Eric didn't do his that excuse just doesn't work.
States don't have the financial means to keep as large a stockpile as is needed now but the federal government does.
In a National Emergency, the President can also instruct private companies to make more than they usually do and instruct private companies to convert their factories to make the products to keep the stockpile stocked which states can't do.

Who are they and what type of masks are you talking about? The public was never told that respirator masks were ineffective and they aren't being told to wear them now. I think you must be talking about surgical type masks that are not effective in keeping you from catching the virus but are effective in you not spreading the virus because it will stop droplets from coughs and sneezes spreading into the air and from landing on surfaces.

No, that's what they were saying originally that no standard mask are effective so there wouldnt be a run on them. Just last week they changed their tune. The "experts" always knew they worked, just google studies from years back. There is a reason why South Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam and even Hong Kong have low rates of infection. Here is one from 2003
Face masks are best protection against SARS

Sorry. Let me revis, the governor of NY has said they will require anywhere from 17,000 to 40,000 additional ventilators. They have acquired 4400 from the Federal government, 1100 from an Alibaba donation out of China, and they had about 2000 in state stockpile. Another 140 have been donated by Washington State because they had extra. Cuomo also ordered hospitals in upstate NY to give up their respirators as they are not in use. Cuomo said he ordered 17,000 but no one has any as every level of government and entire countries are seeking to buy them.
Anyhow the ICU covid patients requiring these machines in NY have dropped alittle from a few days ago and stands at approx 3800 . NY hospitals have atleast 7500 ventilators altogether in use. So they are hoarding ventilators and the U.S. has pretty much bought them all up where poor nations are screwed at this point.
