Psalms 51:7. Amen. Glory to God!I have never noticed myself more beautiful than when i had the first experience of being born again and became a new creation. That day i could see the glow on my face as though I was washed white as snow.
Mirroring your actions by suppressing God's word (in this thread) about "Christian Beauty Standards" may be your personal perspective, or principles and advise; but above all, we should hear it from God, who is sovereign creator of all things, LORD, and Savior. When God's Holy Spirit pricks our heart and nudges us unto His good works; His message can always be validated in His Word. The purpose of this thread is to discuss physical beauty. If you want to post scriptures regarding the topic please start a new thread.

How do you apply everything you’ve posted to your attire? How do you avoid manifesting “the things of this world” in your appearance?
That's truly interesting ...Another, like my old-fashioned mom, is that wearing makeup is a basic etiquette, you cover your skin flaws in consideration of the viewer so they won't experience unpleasant feelings looking at them.

I'm nerdy and tomboyish too : Good to know I'm not the only oneI like men who are considered traditionally handsome by Western standards: proportioned features, Roman nose, chiseled jaw, preferably bearded. Basically your Tyrone Power or Matthew McConaughey types.
I tend to ignore beauty standards for women as this has been such a stumbling block through the ages, particularly for our gender. I'm very nerdy and tomboyish by nature, so I never attract unwanted male attention anyway; it's not like I need to worry about it.
I agree with Dove tooI really liked the philosophy of Dove's Campaign for Real Beauty.
But I do struggle with self-consciousness as in certain social groups, there are unsaid expectations on how to dress/ look.
