NY Governor Cuomo gave a new update on the Coronavirus just now; and it was the most informed and even uplifting news conference I have heard from a politician about it.

Disease in general is an argument against cities. The more concentrated the population, the easier it is for any disease to spread. However, the benefits of cities for commerce and culture are clear as well, and the risk of disease can be mitigated with proper public health policies.

1. "Mitigated" is not a synonym for "eliminated."

2. Not all policies come from the city or state level. There is much in our national healthcare system that can be improved.

3. How should I know? I'm not a health inspector.

I am not a New Yorker, but I find Governor Cuomo's daily news conferences to be very informative. I'm very interested in following how things are really going 'on the front lines' ... realizing that some of our cities could soon find themselves in a similar situation, fighting similar 'battles' ...

Isn’t Seoul, S.Korea larger than NY? And has fared far better than most places?

Andrew Cuomo - the only people who don't like him are New Yorkers - statewide.

There seems to be a behind the scenes push for him to step into candidate role - but I personally think he doesn't have a snowballs chance.

Being in the NYC metro area I have been hearing mostly from Cuomo and he's been doing a great job every step of the way. He is leading on this issue and giving hope to us. This was indeed a good press conference that you posted.

The contrast between the Trump and the Cuomo briefings is illuminating - with the President its "amateur hour" with a rambling, unfocused response which one suspects is a thinly-veiled infomercial for his re-election campaign

In marked contrast, the Governor comes across as insightful, organized and the reflection of an informed politician who has actually taken the time to have a full command of the facts!

I am glad that Governor Cuomo has stepped into the leadership vacuum so effectively. We here in Canada are incredibly fortunate that Prime Minister Trudeau has also stepped up to the plate in the same way. It would not surprise me a bit if I were to learn that they were consulting each other.
