Interesting thoughtI reckon if God intend a man to have more than one wife, He would have taken more than one of Adam's ribs and created several "helpmeets" for him.

It is similar to the thought that if God intended gay marriage, He would have created Adam and Steve instead of Adam and Eve.Interesting thought
God gave David multiple wives, and would actually have given David more:I reckon if God intend a man to have more than one wife, He would have taken more than one of Adam's ribs and created several "helpmeets" for him.
I gave your master's house to you, and your master's wives into your arms. I gave you all Israel and Judah. And if all this had been too little, I would have given you even more.
According to Paul, having more than one wife disqualifies a man from being an elder or a deacon in the Christian church.God gave David multiple wives, and would actually have given David more:
2 Samuel 12:8 NIV
just because something is not his original plan does not mean that God is against it.
Not necessarily. Homosexuality is condemned directly in the Old and New TestamentIt is similar to the thought that if God intended gay marriage, He would have created Adam and Steve instead of Adam and Eve.
For what reason?
Can anyone show me where the Bible condemns polygamy? In the OT we see many instances of multiple wives and concubines. In the NT Jesus says that a marriage is between one man and one woman but he doesnt say anything about multiple marriages and/or concubines. Im not taking a side here and am interested to see the scripture provided.
in 1 Timothy 3:2 a distinction is made that a church elder must be a man of one wife but other than that I dont see it condemned
desiring a woman in your heart is not adultery unless she is married.
It was a joke and not a theological comment! Not necessarily. Homosexuality is condemned directly in the Old and New Testament
Adultery, as defined by the Bible, is when a woman has sex with a man she is not married to.Matthew 5:28 says
"But I tell you that anyone who looks at A woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart."
That means looking at any woman with lustful intentions. Not just those who are married women.
And the man that committeth adultery with another man's wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbour's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.
But whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: he that doeth it destroyeth his own soul.
adultery is always spoken of as being with a woman, because it is based on the marital status of a woman:
It is silly to think that a single man desiring a single woman in his heart is adultery
you have an incorrect understanding on adultery, so your understanding of what the Messiah is saying about adultery is incorrect. You have to correctly understand what adultery is before you can correctly understand what the Messiah is teaching about adultery. Adultery ALWAYS involves a married woman. He’s teaching about adultery with the correct understanding that it involves a married woman. The woman in Matthew 5:28 is a married woman. But that's exactly what Matthew 5:28 says. The commandment to abstain from adultery is talking about premarital sex as well. Or are we allowed to have premarital sex if the person isn't married?

Yes an could also apply to the women you are dating before marriage/fiancéMatthew 5:28 says
"But I tell you that anyone who looks at A woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart."
That means looking at any woman with lustful intentions. Not just those who are married women.
Whered you get this info from? The main reason why the NT does not explicitly address polygamy is that the practice had disappeared by then; Roman law did not permit it. A man in classical antiquity might have concubines, but he was only allowed one legal wife.
