Our taxes should go to the common good; not to corporate welfare.
The question is not whether we need democratic socialism, the qesttion is if we should allow corporations to steal/privatize public resources, for pennies, and make millions/billions, as Nestle is doing with bottled water, water that God made for everyone...
The "right" absolutely believes in socialism, only it's socialism for the rich, not for the common good.

Here's a thought - if you do not want to pay for water - don't

That is the beauty of capitalism.

Well, try giving us some facts to respond to instead of opinions or partisan talking points, so that we have something to work with.

What a rediculous, uniformed response. I guess you know nothing of the privatization of water. It is not just bottled water.

She did give you a fact: that God made water. He did not sell water. He gave it to us - free. So it is a sin to sell bottled water because companies are doing the opposite of what God did for greedy reasons.

"The left" believes in giving us what we need at no cost to ourselves, just like God. I hate that term BTW. It is backwards because Jesus called the left sin and right good when he talks about the sheep and goats.

And you have hand-waving down to a T. Why not address the issue?

The privatization of water is a fact. The Bush's are even invested in the privatization of water for profit.
And it is not just water; it's all the natural resources.
Fact Albion. The "right" wants to privatze, control, and profit from all the resources that God gave us for the whole human race. That's why they demonize socialism; it cuts into their profits.

The privatization of water is a fact.
To some extent that's true. Not completely, but of course private ownership of some water resources is allowed. So is cotton, gravel, and other commodities.

Fact Albion. The "right" wants to privatze, control, and profit from all the resources that God gave us for the whole human race.
I think you have picked up some bad advice about that. First, there is no plan like you seem to want to say there is when throwing around a term like "the Right." And second, almost half of the land and resources west of the Mississippi are owned by the federal government. That approach is the bailiwick of the Socialists, not their opposite number.

What's more, this situation is widely accepted by Americans of all political stripes. The right may want to trim back the percent of land under federal control while the left has a never-ending desire for more control, but there is no movement or crusade to change it in the way your stereotyping suggests.

We need a combination of private and social, but corporations get lands for pennies, and make billions while destroying environments, and get government subsidies (corporate welfare) to boot!
And people are already being dislocated due to sea level rise.

and yet the people living in free societies live much better than people living in Socialist countries. And they live longer.

The fact is that Freedom works. It's only as a theory that Socialism appears to.

Because U.S. corporations exploit and destroy the entire planet.
Plus, that is not true anyway Albion. People in Norway, Sweden, etc...many countries,. live quite well, and no one dies, or loses their home, because they cannot afford to see a doctor.
Educate youself!

Yes, and people die, and lose their homes and their entire life savings because they cannot afford to see a doctor, in the supposedly richest nation in the world. We let people die on the streets here, so the rich can be obscenely rich

It's impossible for America to have medicare for all and remain the protector of the world.

Socialism has no allowance for military. There will be nothing left to stand in the way of Communism.

The rich didn't get rich by giving their money to the government, they will leave, along with the jobs they create. Now Bernie or whoever has complete and total control of the people.

And we haven't even begun to implement the Green New Deal.

Oh boy, where can I sign up!

That is a funny example, a real funny example. I worked for Nestle until my job was sent to the Philippines in 2018. But regarding the water, we drink Nestle Ice Mountain water; I just picked up 10 cases yesterday. We have to drink Nestle water, because the public water supply stinks of Sulphur and other chemicals. Somedays it just smells like blood and farts on other days it really reeks. The lead levels are high, but the city says is within the legal limits. We only find out about fecal coliform contamination AFTER they have lowered the levels and over chlorinate the water. Please tell me how socialism will fix the problem that it created.
