All 4 prosecutors have now resigned.

Thanks. Here's a link.

The four federal prosecutors who took the case against longtime Donald Trump confidant Roger Stone to trial withdrew their involvement Tuesday after top Justice Department officials disavowed and undercut them by reducing the government's recommended sentence against Stone.

Soon after the revised recommendation was made, the four prosecutors who had worked on the trial, Aaron S.J. Zelinsky, Jonathan Kravis, Adam Jed and Mike Marando, filed a motion to withdraw from the case. Zelinsky and Kravis both resigned from the DC US attorney's office.

The goofy thing about this is the recommendation was excessive and even legal pundits on CNN agreed. I think gorden liddy only got like 2 years and all the rest of the watergate gang, even less.

Of course it looks bad when the president sounds off in public on this, but that is dandy don for you.

Were those people you mention convicted of several crimes? 7 convictions = 7 sentences. A year or so apiece doesn't seem so excessive. I understand the max sentence is around 50 yrs.

Wow. America is so corrupt. I think any good will it had from being paid to support the Allies is WW2 has long since dried up.

History is not going to be kind.

A large percentage of Trump supporters are old and plan to be dead before it becomes an issue so not their problem. Another significant percentage believes Jesus will be coming back. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow but maybe tomorrow. They’re planning on being heaven before it becomes a real problem.

...and did they defy a judge's order?

Mr. Stone, 67, deserved seven to nine years behind bars because he threatened the witness with bodily harm, interfered with a congressional investigation and then, after he was charged in a federal indictment, repeatedly flouted the orders of the judge overseeing his case, the prosecutors wrote in a sentencing memorandum.
Prosecutors Recommend Roger Stone Receive Up to 9 Years in Prison

I'm guessing the Judge won't be moved, particularly after Trump's direct attacks on her...

Is the United States of America or Honduras?

Some Republican senators said on Wednesday that President Trump shouldn't weigh in on pending sentences after he publicly criticized an initial recommendation from the Department of Justice (DOJ) in the case of Roger Stone.

Murkowski, Collins, and Graham better watch their mouths, or they'll get fired.

It’s such a bad idea for anyone who believes that the end of the world is part of some divine destiny to wield any political power.

How can they be trusted?

Roger Stone retrial request denied as judge rejects claims jury forewoman was biased

The assumption that the forewoman could not fairly consider the evidence against Stone based on her views about Trump “is not supported by any facts or data and it is contrary to controlling legal precedent,” Jackson wrote in an 81-page opinion. The judge called Stone’s motion “a tower of indignation” with “little of substance holding it up.”

Jackson pointed out that during jury selection it was she, the judge, who pressed the potential juror about her ability to remain impartial, and that Stone’s defense attorney said he had no questions.

“The defendant has not shown that the juror lied; nor has he shown that the supposedly disqualifying evidence could not have been found through the exercise of due diligence at the time the jury was selected,” Jackson wrote in her decision, which the defense is expected to appeal.
