Do you know the raises are based on inflation? They aren't design to get you ahead but instead to keep you even.
I understand that. I also understand that money doesn't grow on trees. So when the left promises things like
Today, we say to our senior citizens, that we understand that you cannot live in dignity when you are trying to survive on $13,000 or $14,000 a year in Social Security benefits. My Republican colleagues want to cut Social Security but we have some bad news for them. We’re not going to cut Social Security benefits. We’re going to expand them.-Bernie
They are flat out lying. They will take money from other sources (that is not theirs). It's simply a juggling act. Propaganda.

As long as you understand your example meant nothing.

I hope that you realize that Trump is lying to you as well. You are helping to pay for his tax cuts to the rich. All money to run the government could message out of the people's pockets, one way or another.

Trump said that Mexico would pay for the wall. He lied. The people are.
Trump said China was paying for his tariffs. He lied. The American people are.

I'm not a Bernie fan but at least he is honest on who will be paying for things. We will, one way or the other. Nothing is free but it can be more affordable.

If you believe Bernie is honest vote for him. As a good catholic, I'm sure your liberation theologian pope will be proud especially when it comes to abortion.

Interestingly, Francis was, when he was a bishop in Argentina, very effective at countering the liberation theology movement's flirtation with Marxism .

"Time, experience and reflection have “purified” liberation theology and its attempts to make clear what the Gospel says about social injustice, Pope Francis said.

“Today, we old people laugh about how worried we were about liberation theology,” the pope told 30 Jesuits from Central America when he met them Jan. 26 in Panama during World Youth Day."

Trump, who has been a much more outspoken advocate of abortion, until he decided he wanted to be president, would be proud of you.

It’s not about being a Republican or a Democrat, it’s about who are you aligned with?

God or Satan.

I’m not a Republican or Democrat; I’m an American!

I’m not a Catholic or Baptist or Calvinist or Arminian, or whatever man made title that is popular; I’m a follower of Jesus Christ.

Either we are on HIS SIDE, or we are on Satan’s.

And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted his eyes and looked, and behold, a Man stood opposite him with His sword drawn in His hand. And Joshua went to Him and said to Him, “Are You for us or for our adversaries?”
So He said, “No, but as Commander of the army of the Lord I have now come.”
And Joshua fell on his face to the earth and worshiped, and said to Him, “What does my Lord say to His servant?” Joshua 5:13-14

Are we aligned with whom God Himself has sent to fight for America?

Some people do become converted in their lifetime or have a change of convictions. Trump toward biblical principles:the pope towards Socialist principles.

Some people do become converted in their lifetime or have a change of convictions. Trump toward biblical principles:

If you think:
  • Adultery
  • Lying
  • Fraud
  • Lawbreaking
  • Sexual assault
are "Biblical principles" then we've found the problem.

the pope towards Socialist principles.

If you think
  • Christian belief
  • Forgiveness of sins on repentence
  • Celibacy of the unmarried
  • Obeying the law
  • Telling the truth
  • Opposition to Marxism

are "socialistic principals", then we've got that covered, too.

You're merely confused.

Isaiah 5:20 (NASB) Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness; Who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!

Think it over.

I didn't say that I'd vote for Bernie but I certainly won't vote for a egotistical, money loving, power hungry, serial liar like Trump.

I'm actually in line with what the Catholic Church has been teaching since the Apostles Peter, Paul and others taught 2000 years ago.

Pleeze. Trump was those things. Now he defends the defenseless (unborn), stands up for the persecuted Church, and blesses Israel with concrete action.
I have nothing good to say about the pope, so I'll keep quiet on that front.

Another Trump lie that matters:

While Trump and his supporters have been quick to criticize Bernie Sanders as a "democratic socialist," this President is a stalwart supporter of "socialism for billionaires" - how else does one explain that one of his top priorities was to provide $1 trillion in tax cuts for the wealthy, financed with borrowed money that the rest of us are supposed to repay?

In his first 70 years of his life, this President was strangely silent on all of these issues - that is until he decided that it was in his best interests to engage in "a marriage of convenience" with conservative Christians!

There were life-long practicing Christians who were Republican presidential candidates in 2016, but American Evangelicals tossed them aside in favor of Trump!

How do you know he didn't have a conversion of sorts? I did. God is real and can turn a Saul into a Paul.

Yes, he does... 'defends the defenseless (unborn),

For him, it's tactical. Notice that although he was warned by his own people that tossing kids into cages would do them serious harm, he decided that it would be a really effective way to discourage asylum applications. Would you like me to show you that?

He doesn't care about anyone, much less children. It's just a way to gain support.

stands up for the persecuted Church

There is no persecuted Church in the United States now, although there have been such (Hutterites, Catholics, and other Christians) in the past. And those who argue so, insult the many persecuted Christians in other places, who truly know what persecution is.

Israel is an ally, not some kind of a jihad.

Obama aided Israel; Trump has only exacerbated the conflicts that endanger Israel.

“We appreciate all that President Obama has done for Israel,” he said. “Some of it is widely known . . . Some of what the president has done for Israel is less well-known.”

The prime minister listed all the times he called Obama and received immediate aid, including the 2010 Carmel forest fire and the siege of the Israeli embassy in Cairo during the 2011 unrest.

“In each of those moments, I called the president, and he was there,” Netanyahu said. “And some of what the president has done for Israel might never be known, because it touches on some of the most sensitive and strategic issues that arise between an American president and an Israeli prime minister.”

“But I know it!” he continued. “And I will always be grateful to President Obama for that support.”

Behavior changes. He would have stopped lying. He would have ceased protecting criminals. And he would have stopped betraying his wife.

I did. God is real and can turn a Saul into a Paul.

There was repentance and a change in behavior in Paul's case, and I assume, in yours. Not Trump's.

Trump was only continuing a policy that was already in place. You are simply mimicking the hysterics of the MSM.

I was referring to worldwide persecution. Trump has put economic pressure on those countries.

Even though Obama often snubbed Netanyahu, Netanyahu was not so quiet when the U.S. abstained on UN Resolution 2334, a true slap in the face to Israel.
