More than 1280 earthquakes since December.... https://fox61.com/2020/01/15/magnitude-5-2-earthquake-shakes-puerto-rico/

We called and they are going to safer open areas or to less devastated areas. There are many Adventist members in the island and they know these are the signs of the last days, but still its hard. We wanted to go but they tell us the shacking is cracking roads and many structures are compromised, so its not safe. We can only pray.

After they lost homes during Hurricane Maria in 2017, some of them moved to Florida. There are Puerto Rican’s in NYC. They are American citizens. Puerto Rico declared bankruptcy to reduce their debt. It was settled in 2019.

These recent quakes are aftershocks of lesser magnitude. I saw photos in Google Images of homes with collapsed masonry walls and roofs.

Hurricane Charlie hit Florida in 2004. It tore holes in roofs. While the roofs were yet exposed to the elements, a second storm dumped tons of water. The damaged homes filled with moisture and toxic mold ruined them. They were torn down. Since then some minor damage, but nothing major. A couple years ago a home near here was destroyed by lightening and the fire that followed.

In 1902 the town of St. Pierre on the island of Martinique was destroyed by a volcanic eruption. 28,000 people died.

If you escape natural disasters, you might get struck by cardiovascular disease or cancer. You have today. Tomorrow is not always guaranteed.
