Please allow me to clarify this for you.

If I had intended to say no american on the left of the political spectrum has ever taken up arms in battle against an enemy of the United States, here is what that comment would have looked like:

"No american on the left of the political spectrum has ever taken up arms in battle against an enemy of the United States."

However, since I did not include those words in my post which you quoted, obviously I did not make that claim.

Perhaps you are using a different definition of " Any" and "Always, Always" than is typically used in standard vernacular?
