And you believe CNN to tell the truth? Ask Bernie Sanders!

Let's test that. With which of Trump's original demand did China comply?

Yep. None of them. Trump caved and signed an agreement that gave him none of the things he demanded of China.

Hence China 1, Trump 0.

Obama did not get a good deal from China either.

US companies opened factories and businesses in China and voluntarily transferred technology to China in order to get joint venture deals there, then complained when the Chinese gained the knowledge they needed to compete against the US companies. Other times Chinese hackers stole US technology. Computer hacking is illegal.

What economic deal do you think he made with China? In this case, whattaboutism just won't work at all for you.

Trump, for all his chest-thumping, got none of his objectives in his deal with China.

Trump seems like too much hype. The phase 1 agreement allows some tariff free trade that existed before the tariffs were enacted. Have you read the agreement?

The Federal budget deficits have risen since Obama left the White House.

I used to live in the DC area. DC is a Black majority city. The suburbs are Democrat. The wealthiest Black majority county in the nation is a Maryland suburb of DC. Some Blacks have professional jobs. I sold my condo in Northern Virginia in 2012 and moved to Florida. A friend who worked for the FAA told me the DC area Federal civil service was becoming more diverse.

Hence China 1, Trump 0.

If Obama would have been involved
it would have been Obama down 5

I know you all hate to admit it
but,
Trump is going to score big points with this one.
Finally someone strong to take on China.

Forgot to mention
CNN what a joke they have proven to be.
Full time jokesters.

That's the nice thing about fantasies. They can be whatever you want.

I know you all hate to admit it
but,
Trump is going to score big points with this one.

That's what we get from his supporters. "This time... This time, it's going to work for sure!"

Finally someone strong to take on China.

They got most of what they demanded. He got nothing he demanded. That's the point.

(Obligatory CNN rant)

Forgot to mention
CNN what a joke they have proven to be.

How could they top Trump's "dishwasher" performance?

It's pretty vague. But I don't see any concessions by the Chinese on intellectual property or protectionism. Trump backed down on some of his tariffs.

The Federal budget deficits have risen since Obama left the White House.

It's hard to balance a budget by cutting taxes and raising expenditures. Laffer keeps promising it will happen, but every time we actually try supply-side theories, it fails. Kansas is still digging out of the hole from the time they tried it.

They know so little 4 that is part of the deal Maybe they should have read the book How many tariffs did Obama put on China?

I guess you can't always get what you want?

I am not sure about this. There are yet tariffs on some Chinese goods as negotiations continue. China agreed to buy more soybeans. It does not seem like a very good deal.

US deal with China is a victory for Trump, but more still needs to be done (opinion) - CNN

For decades, multiple presidential administrations did little while China flouted the rules and gained an unfair advantage in the international trade market. That changed when President Trump took office, and his consistently tough stance led to a "phase one" trade deal between the United States and China last week. And while it doesn't solve all of the trade issues between the United States and China, it's a good start.

Given that the Chinese are known to be shrewd negotiators, what price did they extract so that the trade agreement could be announced on the same day that the Impeachment Trial started in the Senate!

The Chinese knew that President Trump was in a desperate need for "a win," and to have it rolled out at the start of his Impeachment Trial to divert the American public's attention was more than mere coincidence!

Yes, if it was not for the help of China and Putin Trump would have no chance of a win in 2020.

Thank goodness they are on the right side.

So Trump got a "deal" in which he didn't get one of his demands, but China got some of theirs. They were able to do this, because China was aware that Trump was in big trouble and needed something to distract attention from his impeachment. So they were able to squeeze more out of him, precisely because he needed the help. China wins. Trump gets a little help. And America loses.

if it was not for the help of China and Putin Trump would have no chance of a win in 2020.

They need a weak America, and a weak president.

Thank goodness they are on the right side.

From their point of view.

U.S. Agriculture Secretary says no need for more farm aid after China trade deal

AUSTIN, Texas (Reuters) - With China poised to increase purchases of U.S. agricultural goods this year as part of a Phase 1 China trade deal, the U.S. Agriculture Secretary said on Monday there is no need for a third year of trade-related aid for farmers.

Farmers have increasingly relied on aid from the U.S. government to survive during the past two years as exports have lagged throughout the U.S.-China trade war. But USDA Secretary Sonny Perdue said China will soon begin buying U.S. farm goods to meet the $40 billion in agricultural purchase agreements it made, alleviating growers' need for more aid.
