The reason we know abortion is a right, Human Rights Watch head Kenneth Roth said, is because ‘authoritative interpretations’ by U.N. experts have said so.

Abortion is a human right that trumps religious liberty, says top human rights org

"... arguments about the humanity of the unborn are merely “philosophical,”

A philosophical argument posed to claim that some other argument is merely philosophical.

"He warned against “picking and choosing” among rights."

As he argues that we should pick and choose abortion over the right to religious freedom.

Is this what passes for discussion nowadays?

Well with all the nonsensical ideologies floating about as truth these days, the discussions would naturally reflect that. People are blind.

Since this guy is somehow respected among some people for some reason I was expecting some argument other than "my opinion is right and everyone else's is wrong".

I wonder how far off they are from just killing anyone who complains or needs assistance.
Saves a lot of money if you quit feeding the hungry.
People are already euthanizing their elderly and handicapped. Even offering assistance in dying for depression. We are living in a scary world.

But that’s basically the same thing these supposedly progressive people have always done. It’s a very totalitarian mindset.

What kind of leap is it from there to say...black or brown people?
Or blind or deaf, etc?
The "leaders" make the rules.

It’s not much of a leap at all seeing how black and Latinos are targeted much more than others for the abortion industry. Down syndrome kids are often aborted along with many others with disabilities. This is all under the guise of compassion.
