From the "Behind the scenes", files: ‘I Want Trump Out!’: Migrants Plan To Cross US Border Once Trump Leaves Office

Central American migrants hoping to enter the United States have said they will wait in Mexico in the hope that President Donald Trump loses reelection, where they will then cross the U.S. border.

The Center for Immigration Studies (CIS), a Washington, D.C.-based think tank that advocates for reduced immigration, visited southern Mexico and interviewed Central American migrants who have ambitions of reaching the U.S.
...
The gamble these migrants are making is not exactly ill-conceived. Every leading contender for the Democratic presidential nomination has vowed to disassemble Trump’s most consequential immigration policies, particularly the Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP) program. Better known as “Remain in Mexico".
...
There are well over 50,000 migrants under the “Remain in Mexico” program. If a Democratic administration took over in 2021, they would presumably be allowed to enter the U.S. while their cases are processed

Do you blame them ? I wouldn’t want to be around a racist who encourages other racists to be abusive either
Sorta missed the whole point behind this news story, it appears. Criminals don't care much about the personal feelings of anybody; it's a matter of who can most easily be taken advantage of by them.

Actually I didn’t , the fact that they still think that the USA is the home of the free still gives me hope that this presidency is just an another unfortunate hiccup in our checkered civil rights history. People still come here looking for help. We Americans need to do better

Web Americans have laws that we expect you to follow if you want to come looking for help. If you CHOOSE not to follow them, then not only do you not get help you get kicked out. You actually after that ( in most cases) are not welcome back for a decade.

Why do they think they need to wait until he might lose election? Don't they have faith in the House Democrats case, via these articles of impeachment, that these articles will sway 2/3 of the Senate to remove Trump from office within a cpl of weeks from now rather than them having to wait months from now in hopes he doesn't get reelected ?

If Trump survives this impeachment, and I'm sure he will, I'm then certain he will be reelected. So my point was, even these migrants apparently don't have faith in the House Democrats case for impeachment against Trump, otherwise you would think that would be what they are hoping for first rather than hoping he doesn't get reelected some months later.

It’s not illegal to come here and ask for asylum. Trump is trying to make that difficult . As I’ve said we Americans need to do better. Abusing desperate people is not something I’m proud of as an American. My son’s mother in law fled an abusive arranged marriage to a high muckety muck in another country. She couldn’t stay in her home country because her husband had political power. Women now can get sent back to abusers . The same for people fleeing gangster violence where they threaten to kill your family . So they come here and get their children taken from them and subjected to deliberate neglect.

The Daily Caller needs to get back on message!

The 50,000 are going to enter the United States before the election....and vote along with the millions of other immigrants here illegally.
they don’t vote . They don’t commit many crimes. Illegal food cart is the most I’ve ever seen . They cut up fruit, put it in cups, and sell it in the subway to passers by . I’ve never heard of anyone getting sick from their food either . I live in NYC which is a sanctuary city

Here's an idea then. Why don't we do something like this. Start rounding up illegals that bypassed the asylum process altogether, and in exchange for every thousand illegals we evict from this country, we make the process less difficult for 10 asylum seekers. So IOW, for every thousand illegals we remove from this country, we trade them for 10 asylum seekers trying to get in here the legal way.

Why would you want to do that ? The law used to be that if you wanted asylum all you had to do is get here by any means and then ask . They still could turn you down . There’s a huge back load of cases . That still doesn’t justify mistreating people

Even though you are correct, it is not fair to begin with, that some can enter this country illegally and get away with it scott free, while others like these asylum seekers are at least trying to do it the legal way, but aren't being allowed into this country. But instead of adding even more immigrants to this country, we need to at least be doing something about the ones already here, meaning only the ones here illegally. Let's get all 10 million or so of them out of this country first, then instead of 10 million illegals plus 50,000 asylum seekers in this country, it would only be 50,000 asylum seekers added to this country. I would rather have 50,000 asylum seekers added to this country any day, over 10 million already added to this country who are not here legally to begin with.

Why are some laws strictly enforced in this country, and that some aren't? Is or is not entering this country illegally against the law? If it is against the law, why isn't that law being enforced like these no vehicle insurance laws are, as an example? Get caught driving without insurance, you can bet they are going to enforce that law. Get caught driving without a green card or whatever they need to be here legally, they don't enforce that law.

I don’t know about other areas but the police aren’t allowed to call ICE on any one after they’ve been arrested . If they’re guilty of major crimes they do get deported as soon as their sentence is up. They didn’t automatically deport you for doing something like selling loosies ( loose cigarettes which every one who smokes does from time to time)

....yes, they do the work that citizens feel is below them....just as the Irish, Chinese and others have done throughout our nation's history.

Just ask Donald Trump who employed illegal immigrants to clean his hotel rooms...and groom his golf courses.

The build up of back log has been going on for decades. The climax came when Soros overwhelmed it with his bused in from other countries with promises. Building the wall is for the illegal traffic.

Improving the process of immigration does need improving on. Two decades ago, I was in the immigration process for over 11 years. Each year, I had to start over, with the process, the cost, the attorneys, the FBI finger printing, the health exam, etc only to have to start over at the beginning of the year or the change of agent handling the case. I do not know how much the process has changed since then.

Given the problems it now experiencing, I would say it hasn't improved but the volume has become overwhelming. Blaming Trump and thinking that when he is gone will improve matters is dumb. I do think that a fast pass, should be given to those who are healthy, FBI cleared, and can be gainfully employed and not overwhelm the welfare system.

You can asks for asylum but that does not mean you will get it we simply can not have everyone and their brother coming here wanting protection just does not work. Moreover, you have to ASKS for asylum so if you come here and just stay and then are caught that is not OK.

but they should. If you are here unlawfully I feel that should deport you for a traffic infraction. Which , many times for citizens and people here legally is not even really considered a crime. These are things like speeding tickets.
