I think it must come in phases because I know several people who seem to be at different levels of coming out of some kind of daze. Some of these people seem to be honestly ashamed they supported Trump. Some of them seem embarrassed they supported Trump. Some of them are still clinging to an old habit of making up excuses for supporting Trump, but their attempts of justification are becoming less and less. And lastly, a couple of them are even trying to outright deny they ever supported him in the first place. I guess it just depends on the person and where they are in their deTrump efforts.

And who do you really have out there?
Bernie or Biden?
Oh my golly.
It ain't happening folks.

I'ld have to agree that it has a great deal to do with Executive Privilege...and because people are sick and tired of the democrats wasting time and millions of tax payer dollars on their relentless pursuit to unseat their duly elected President.
A minority seem to falsely characterize it this way. A larger group feel that the evidence presented so far is sufficient to justify removing Donald from his job.

Do you really want to go with a "but the people want" argument here, given the facts of the polling data?

You mean the multiple indictments and Mueller pointing out that Trump can be indicted for obstruction after he leaves office?
I was thinking of the part where Donald's personal attorney ended up in prison. As well as his campaign manager.

All normal, nothing to see here.

Sure, and if a frog had wings... Not sure of the relevance of either counterfactual hypothetical to this thread.

How is it counterfactual...there is no crime as hard as they tried...nothing...or do you have secret knowledge of a crime that the house forgot to submit to the senate?

They did. They got to define it as well--it need not be the violation of an existing statute.

Opinion and hearsay from Polosi is not a crime. They have no evidence whatsoever.

The Articles are not worth the paper they are written on.

McConnell and his layers with have much to say about this when the trial begins.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if it's thrown out until Polosi can establish a crime.

If the FBI wanted to question Mother Teresa, they could have set her up in a way that proved that she lied to them.

Are we now comparing Trump to Mother Teresa? LOL.

They can search your home and find something, a DVD copied by your mom that she shared with you.

What kind of videos do you and your mom share?

That's copyright infringement, you are going to prison for 7 years

Uh huh.

... what? So anyone can be set up ... except _ Trump. Nothing is sticking to him. They threw everything in their playbook at him to no avail.
No threats, we will see justice.

And Trump watching all his closest associates go to prison for various activities while he somehow is lilly white is justice, right?

You're sadly mistaken. The President can be impeached for ignoring his duties and watching TV all day, which isn't a crime.

He can be impeached for sneezing with this crowd in the house.

But in the senate they look for a thing called evidence.

Well...we'll all find out soon enough.

Good, let's have a real trial with real witnesses and real documents.

You'd think they'd be happy to allow witnesses to present evidence then, instead of suppressing them.

I mean, if you're OK with Obstruction of Congress I can't really stop you.

I could be wrong, it wouldn't be the first time.

I think he is thinking of his legacy and doesn't want an acquittal on his resume.

He' hoping for it to be thrown out for lack of evidence.

Well, when you suppress the evidence you take away that argument.
