...I'm not sure how pointing out how someone is being hateful is somehow being "hateful"?

Hateful is such a subjective word.
being against illegal immigration and all for legal immigration turns into "hates immigrants" to the left.. (I'm truly not sure what planet that would be true, but I digress)
Wonders outloud if a Muslim woman who stood behind her husband like a statue - the epitome of the dutiful Muslim wife - is even allowed to speak her mind, is called hatred by the left. (I'll guarantee I wasn't allowed to speak my mind outloud in public in my Muslim exhusbands presence so it's a legitimate question even if directed at a Gold Star mother, I wasn't even allowed to prepare the grocery shopping list let alone speak my mind)
There's always two sides to every story, if you skip to only the choicest of quotes in order to present someone in the worst possible light you can make a saint appear as the devil incarnate.
I learned a long time ago to listen to all of what is being said and not jump to conclusions based on less than half.

Trump sounds & acts hatefully. He consumes so much of his own brain space with hatred for others. I don't think most ppl give him their passion. Christians absolutely should be appalled & disgusted by his behaviour & hate his sin while not hating him as a person bc that is not productive.
What I find to be the most shameful is the "so & so started it 1st so he was just defending himself" tortured logic, that is so childish & unbiblical yet it's totally grown ppl who say they are Christians who so often use that argument. I am so grateful no such person is in my personal life. I shudder reading that stuff online. They are the enablers of Trump, which make them as complicit in his shamefulness. We should hate that sin too but not hate them.

Wow three years into his administration and some of President Trumps supporters are still using this same excuse to dismiss any and all criticism of President Trump. It's pretty useful when it's trotted out now, kind of shows his supporters have pretty much stopped even pretending to be able to defend him at this point. Mind you I do understand, he doesn't actually give you all anyway to spin the things he does/says so falling back on the "you all are just mad cause Hillary lost!" line is just a reflex at this stage. Looking at it that way kind of shows how hard it must be being a President Trump supporter. You're forced to defend his attacking a grieving mother and his being...well pretty much despicable at every turn. You truly do have my sympathy.
Not as much harm as President Trump has.
