Trump is the most admired man among the 1,025 people polled over the phone. Lol.

From the Fox News article: "The poll used a sample of 1,025 people from all 50 states and Washington, D.C., ages 18 and above, and was conducted over the phone."

That's enough for a fairly representative sample.
Hmmm... 1,025 out of over 250 million voting age americans were polled.

I'd say the margin of error has to be pretty dang high.

President Obama is still very much loved & admired in Canada too. I'm an American living here. I'm proud of him. :)

He's way more popular than Trump on Twitter too.
Compared to Trump, Bush W looks good. It doesn't take much to look better than the scum at the bottom of the barrel.

I know, right? That poll is almost as laughable as the effort to compare Trump to Obama.

Most polls use a sample size of 1000-1500, which, assuming the sample is random, gets you a margin of error of about 3%. There's really no advantage to having a larger sample. It won't significantly reduce the margin of error.

From the article:
Both Trump and Obama received 18 percent, while 11 percent of participants chose someone they know and 25 percent did not pick anyone.
Doesn't this mean 82% of the people polled liked someone else more then President Trump? 3 years into his administration?
tulc(doesn't think that sounds like something to celebrate) :sorry:

I don't remember Bush W.

I am friends irl with a girl on here who studies international political policies w a focus on global health at Stanford & she has told me that Bush did the most for AIDS research out of any POTUS. He made a really big difference. She wrote a paper on how what he did has helped hugely with the vaccine researchers have been working on. That could totally change the world in our lifetime. He didn't personally do that research but he cared enough about the issue to put power behind getting funding & support for it.

So he was America's most admired man for his 8 years and the entirety of President Trumps administration so far? Good point!

Not surprising...

Americans rank Barack Obama as best president of their lifetimes: Poll
A new Pew Research Center poll says more Americans rank former President Barack Obama higher than any other when asked which president has done the best job in their lifetimes.

Obama was named the best or second best president by 44 percent of Americans in the survey that came out Wednesday. Thirty-one percent ranked him as the best president in their lifetimes.
Americans rank Barack Obama as best president of their lifetimes: Poll

Commentators often comment on the cult-like adoration supposedly given to Trump by his followers, but...

President Donald Trump comes in fourth after President Bill Clinton and President Ronald Reagan, with 19 percent of Americans ranking him as the best or second best in their lifetimes.

Obama has the good fortune to have governed between Bush II and Trump, so he looks pretty good by comparison. For 8 years, we had a president who wasn't laughed at by the rest of the world.

Trump has the good fortune to have become President after the Obama fiasco so even he looks not all that bad .
