This, unfortunately, appears to be the case.

Sanders (who is not a Democrat) helped the Republicans win in 2016 and he's helping them again in 2020 by attacking the other candidates for not being Democratic enough.

The Democrats need to work together to defeat Trump.

This made me smile and think of riding down the "presidential highway" in the South Island, NZ. It's the road between Clinton and Gore in Southland. :) This was way after Clinton had left office, and there was this cafe that had memorabilia from his presidency. There was obvious affection for him.

I swear I learn so much stuff from your posts I could go on Jeopardy & win just from having read them, lol. :D Love.

Presidents should be impeached every single time they recruit foreign countries to interfere in our elections. That is the message the House wants to send and I think it’s a good one. Not one single person can justify Trump investigating the Bidens through Ukraine. And so now we know at the very least, that action will get you impeached by the House.

This is the farce. Trump never recruited anyone to interfere in the election. What Trump did was request a foreign leader to cooperate with his attorney general and members of the investigation team into possible corruption involving an American member of government. Which is his right to do so. The Democrats cannot say he has no right to do that. Because he does. So what's their answer? That particular person is immune to investigation simply because he happens to be running for office. But they cannot point to any law or provision that makes it a crime. What's their call? "Biden is a Democrat running for nomination for the Democrat party to be president, therefore he is immune to investigation for corruption!"

It's such a farce. Trump never said, dig up dirt on Biden or else. He never said they had to find bad things or corrupt things. He wanted them to cooperate with investigators as they looked into what Biden was involved in when he demanded the prosecutor be fired and withheld US aid until it happened.
It's a joke. And Americans see that. Unless you're a never Trumper.

It's so cute how you try to portray Trump's actions as a legitimate investigation....even after the President's lawyer just returned from another political fishing expedition in the Ukraine. Trump and his lawyer carry out their actions in plain day light....and still, his supporters act like everything is totally above board.

No. The House has brought out the facts of the matter as testified to by the witnesses, and so the facts have been made publicly known, and it is on the basis of those facts--that the president abused the office of the presidency for personal gain--that he has been impeached.

That you don't like the facts is irrelevant.

There are no facts. They dropped the quid pro quo because they couldn't prove that. They moved on to abuse of power because that's all they had left. Their whole thing rests on "Biden is immune to investigation because he's a Democrat running for Democratic candidacy." It's a farce. There is nothing codified that says anything of the sort.

...despite all the expert fact witnesses testimony to the contrary. There is nothing legitimate with a President sending his personal lawyer to investigate an American citizen abroad.

And 20-40-60 years from now people will still know (without having to look it up) that Trump was impeached for putting a shake down on Ukraine in order to cheat on the next election.
Right! Let's stick out heads in the sand and ignore the fact that the Ukrainian president said he was not pressured to do anything.
Ukrainian President Volodymr Zelensky told reporters Thursday his controversial July call with President Trump involved no bribe, blackmail or quid pro quo, as impeachment-minded Democrats claim.
Zelensky spoke at a daylong event with media inside a Kiev food market, and said he believes the transcript released by the White House is accurate and that he knew the U.S. had withheld $400 million in military aid due to concerns about corruption and concern for American "taxpayer money." But the issue, he said, was never linked to Trump's desire that Kiev rekindle an investigation into an energy company with ties to former Vice President Joe Biden's son, Hunter Biden.
Ukraine president says 'no blackmail' in phone call with Trump
Just ignore that man over there behind the curtain.

The article on the abuse of power is about the quid pro quo. And this was established by the testimony of the witnesses during the public hearings. Those are the facts.

It's because it is.

Using the office of the presidency to bribe a foreign power for personal gain is not a legitimate use of presidential power.

By withholding something that had already been promised by Congress for the purpose of personal gain the president overstepped the powers of his office. So, no, that was not within his right to do.

Trump was impeached!

Though I suspect there isn't much reason, currently, to have much faith in the GOP controlled Senate to do the job which they were elected to do in this instance. McConnell and Graham have both made it clear that they have absolutely zero interest in a legitimate trial, and have only partisan interests in mind.

Hopefully the states which elected them are properly paying attention to their senators' refusal to abide by the oath they swore when they took their office to uphold the Constitution.

Yet no one could establish quid pro quo. No one. It's a farce. The Ukrainian president said there wasn't. No one heard Trump say it or demand it. Bah! I don't know why I even bother. They did it it's a done deal no matter how much of a farce it was. They couldn't prove a thing. They had no evidence.
