It ain't over 'til the fat lady sings.

Well, she sang loud and clear tonight, lol. Donald J. Trump is one of three presidents in the history of the United States to be impeached. Now, whether he'll be removed from office isn't settled but what is settled is that fact. He has been impeached.

Some the lamest things to ever have happen. Abuse of power? Really? The Democrats have just made impeachment meaningless. A big yawn. I imagine if we wanted to we could look back on every president and come up with a reason to impeach on abuse of power. Because it is far to subjective. But hey, I guess the Dems have made their bed and now will have to lay in it.

And this is no surprise, no shock, no big deal really. It's been something they've wanted to do since the voting ended.

So, your excuse is "other presidents did bad stuff in the past, too"?

And 20-40-60 years from now people will still know (without having to look it up) that Trump was impeached for putting a shake down on Ukraine in order to cheat on the next election.

So when Trump wins next November and the Democratic House loses their majority I suppose the other side can say Good.

Merry Christmas!

That's as realistic as Santa Claus coming down our chimney but we like to leave cookies & milk out for him just as tradition. Whatever makes you feel better. :)

Hardly think so. Many will conclude that's a pretty weak shake down when the Ukraine President doesn't even know that's what it is. I suggest rather it will definitely be known as a time the Congress acted in a partisan way noting that the leader at the time said a few months prior it was a wrong thing to do.

I'd suggest you watch the really brief clip (only a few seconds) when Ann Coulter was asked who would win the 2016 election and see those laughing and mocking her. Seems to me they thought that was a Santa Claus possibility too....and yet I wonder if they ever apologized and told her she was right when she got the last laugh?

Hardly think so. Many will conclude that the president of Ukraine is in the midst of fighting a DEADLY WAR with Russia and was desperate to appease Donald Trump. I mean they still haven't gotten some of the promised military aid. Trump's claim that he cared about corruption in Ukraine is laughable considering that he'd hired Manafort & Gates. And bc he didn't hold up military aid in 2017 or in 2018 when the president of Ukraine was actually corrupt. He only did after they got a new young president who ran on an anti-corruption campaign.

People right now are deciding to believe what Rudy and Trump tell them on Twitter. The actual information about Donald Trump's stunning corruption will be in the history books that will be read by my kids one day.

Well Durham under Bar are doing criminal investigations right now on some you might think are fine and wonderful people. You might be shocked to find your kids reading about them some day too. One thing about the future it's the future. We'll see. :)

Ask anyone in NZ what they know about Bill Clinton.

1. He was USA president
2. He was impeached for kissing a girl

20 years from now noone will know whether Zelinski said he felt pressure of not.

That was fun. Thanks! :) It's always refreshing to remember that the majority of Americans did not vote for Donald Trump & not only that, thought better of their country than for him to be elected. Dude that was awesome, I will share your video!

Have you seen the video where Trump was saying that impeachment would be such a horrible embarrassment & stain forever left on history? He said that back in 2014 but he gets to live it now.

So TWO things Trump made history on that President Obama did not! He lost the popular vote by millions, whereas President Obama fully won both of his elections. AND he's one of only three presidents in the history of the United States to be impeached!

For real dude this is exactly right. Plus 20 years from now when Twitter is totally obsolete - already moving that way now - people are not going to kindly judge the grown adults of 2019 who decided to believe what Rudy & Trump said on Twitter instead of learning the facts. They will know that Zelensky made the comments while his country was at war. The facts will be in recorded history.

William Barr's name is spelled with the double r.

Oh don't worry I'm absolutely sure my kids will read the actual facts of Barr's part in Trump's impeachment in their history classes one day. :)

How many former presidents tried to extort another government in order to throw dirt on a political opponent?

“I said, whatever you do, don’t hire a ‘yes man,’ someone who won’t tell you the truth — don’t do that,” Mr. Kelly said, according to The Washington Examiner, which covered his remarks at a political summit it hosted in Sea Island, Ga. “Because if you do, I believe you will be impeached.”
-John Kelly, Former WH Chief of Staff

Kelly Says He Told Trump a ‘Yes Man’ as His Successor Would Lead to Impeachment

Donald Trump has an allergic reaction to being told no.

General Kelly's prescient statement was, of course, established by experience, and his admonition to hire someone with the fortitude to tell Trump what he needed to hear rather than what he wanted to was rejected because......it wasn't what he wanted to hear. As of this week there has been an 80% turnover of senior-ranking advisers - those in the most influential positions - within the executive office of the president. That's higher than usual but not extraordinarily so, but what does make it exceptional is the common phenomenon of multiple departures within the same position.

As a condensed recap: Former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson spoke with exasperation about having to frequently explain to Trump that things he wanted to do were illegal, and then endure his ire. He characterized Trump as undisciplined and unwilling to read or commit to understanding a complex issue. Former Secretary of Defense General Mattis and the former Presidential Envoy to Combat ISIL Brett McGurk are now at Stanford because this time last year they'd resigned from their positions due to Trump's catastrophically inept and erratic decision-making in regards to Syria (and other matters). Generals Mattis and Kelly along with Tillerson had coordinated to smother some of Trump’s more extreme and imprudent ideas but since Trump is more permeable to advice coming from Fox News, Twitter, and his personal associates, than those with expertise it was impossible. Nikki Haley wrote in her book that Tillerson told her people would die if Trump went unchecked. If he actually did state that, he was correct. Next quarter I'm taking an independent research class with Trump's former National Security Advisor H.R. McMaster who also resigned and was succeeded by John Bolton, who had to explain to Trump why inviting the Taliban to Camp David on the week of the anniversary of 9/11 was an atrocious idea, and then, of course resigned as well.

If Trump had given heed to the advice of his advisors rather than taking umbrage when they didn't simply say yes I think he could have avoided his impeachment.

"The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man listens to advice."

This made me smile and think of riding down the "presidential highway" in the South Island, NZ. It's the road between Clinton and Gore in Southland. :) This was way after Clinton had left office, and there was this cafe that had memorabilia from his presidency. There was obvious affection for him.

I wanted to be more sensitive, lol. :D

I'm actually an American but my family emigrated to Canada.

You were being sensitive by writing "Merry Impeachmas" instead of "Happy Impeachmas." :)

If you have the facts on your side, pound the facts. If you have the law on your side, pound the law. If you have neither on your side, pound the table. The table pounding continues.
Yep that's what the Dems have been doing. That's why this is so lame. They didn't have that law on their side and didn't have facts either so they ponunded the table and said we've gotta do something and they came up with this lame article.

The American People have spoken through their elected representatives. Hopefully, their message is loud enough to drown out the Fox News blaring on the president’s tv.
I think the People have just realized they made a mistake in their election of their representatives. I guess we'll find out next November.
