Hey everyone!

I am currently trying to lose weight. I am morbidly obese and I absolutely love food. I love to eat.

I have been on this weight loss journey since 2012. I have been trying on and off. I have went from 273 lbs to 242 lbs these past 2 years. I currently weigh 248 lbs.

I am having trouble losing weight eating out. I find I do much better when I buy grocery and cook and eat at home. I'm just not sure how to do this. Do I eat out sometimes or do I cut eating out completely? What if I'm traveling? Do I take food from home?

My hunger pains and cravings are very powerful as well. On top of that, I feel like I love food more than being healthy and having a womans six pack. I will lose 4 lbs in one week and it makes me so hungry and craving that I gain it right back.

I'm fighting to lose this weight with more will power but I am struggling. However, I have learned from my failures. I calorie count, know to drink water, understand if I cant exercise adjust the calories accordingly, eat plenty of protein and fiber, eat plenty of vegetables and fruits, and use will power. I will not give up. I want to have a womans six pack someday. I wont give up.

I dont know how to make the next breakthrough. I am stuck in the 240s lbs. Please help. Thank you all for any advice and prayers you give. Thank you so much.

Well you've got the right attitude about it, that is for sure!

I've never never gone on a diet to lose weight or anything but I'm an athlete, one of my coaches gave us nutritional info to improve ourselves. What was real important was meal planning. That is just crucial. Plan out what you're going to eat well before you're hungry. Chart out your meals for the week. Have healthy snacks you're gonna like on hand. EAT ON A SCHEDULE. Saying this in all caps on account of how important that is. The trick is to eat enough quality food so you don't get to that point where you're so darn hungry you'll eat everything on the McDonald's menu. Time things out around exercising, activities.

Eat more fat, less carbs. More satiating and keeps the cravings between meals down. Also eat pretty much the same things on a weekly rotation. This will help your general health via a happy gut biome. This will also help you to not agonize about what you are going to eat, as you will already know. Of course portion control is important. Make just enough for a meal, no second helpings. Don't worry about exercise either. At your weight just carrying that extra bulk around is exercise enough. You will lose more weight by reducing your calories than by exercising (some say you have to walk 70 miles to lose one pound of honest body weight), which may even increase your appetite. Good luck.

You might want to adjust the fruit intakes for the excess sugar it involves. Stay clear of diet anything. The body doesn't know what to do with it so rather than eliminate it, it stores it away. Starch and sugar was known as the poor man's diet for a reason but is unhealthy and these days most processed foods are made of just that, disguised as real food. Good old fashioned meat, potatoes and veggies are all we need in moderation. You want flavour use spices or a dash of butter.

Hi @jasonMalloy1999 , I wish when I was younger I had paid more attention to matters of diet and weight and exercise...

Of course, it's the spiritual food from God's Word for the soul, that matters most...

Only way to lose weight is to stop eating the food.

Cut down on portion sizes.

Try not eating after 6pm at night until 9am in the morning. Be strict.

Its not easy. I know.

Offer up your sufferings to God.

God bless you

Pack a lunch to take with you to work. Cook and eat dinner at home. That should be your default, and don't lean heavily on frozen foods. What I do when I'm on the ball is I cook enough for 3 meals. Two of the leftovers will be lunches.

If you can handle a cheat day once a week or once every two weeks, allow yourself, on social occasions. I've got a coworker who has done that, and lost 60 pounds in several months (I don't recall how many). He does keto, and he's careful about his cheat days, because he knows that he's going to pay for going too crazy on those days.

Someone who goes to my church has dropped down from 410 to 290 in a little over a year, and he travels. He's not on his diet when he travels, and he's not down to where he wants to be yet, and the progress he's made is because diet and exercise are the most important things in his life right now. And it's hard for him, but he's got to keep going. He does keto and a lot of swimming.

I dont know how to make the next breakthrough. I am stuck in the 240s lbs. Please help. Thank you all for any advice and prayers you give. Thank you so much.
I would ask a doctor for advice. The two examples I gave are keto, but I don't think that's for everybody. Keto has known side effects that would be especially bad for me, for instance.

Hello Faith. if you check the sugar content of what you're eating and always eat things with less than 5% sugar you will loose weight. Anything with high sugar, avoid it. God Bless :)

I feel you!

I am trying to lose some weight myself. I am about 35 pounds over weight, which isn't alot, but I have been trying for a year. I have an issue because of my job and I am a very picky eater. I don't eat much in the way of veggies and no fruit at all. Fish is very expensive. Lean meat is expensive.

As an EMT I never know when I can eat. If we eat out, generally we're eating on the go and slamming food down our throats. I don't bring a lunch as I tend not to have leftovers and I can not be sure that I can heat it up during the day. Dinner is usually too late by the time that I get home. I eat and then go to bed so I can do it again the next day. So, I am usually in bed within an hour of eating.

My blood pressure is up, as is my pulse rate. I know I need to do something, but have no idea what I can do.

Start with cider vinegar capsules

Is there any after taste on those?

Much of my blood pressure is also stress caused by my job and ex-wife. Problem is, she will always be my ex-wife and I need a job, so...
