So have a Chanukkah parade instead. WWJD?

John 10:22 TLV
Then came Chanukkah; it was winter in Jerusalem. 23 Yeshua was walking in the Temple around Solomon’s Colonnade. 24 Then the Judean leaders surrounded Him, saying, “How long will You hold us in suspense? If You are the Messiah, tell us outright!”
25 Yeshua answered them, “I told you, but you don’t believe! The works I do in My Father’s name testify concerning Me.

I seriously doubt the confeds would take part in that parade.

Got another source on this one?

For all I know, "Confederate Group" could mean "historical re-enactment society". Historical re-enactment societies are quite common in the United States, and are quite vital in instructing modern-day people about the ways of the past. They also frequently get hired as extras on movie productions because they have their own costumes and props.

A town in North Carolina has canceled its Christmas parade over fears of protests due to the planned inclusion of a group bearing the Confederate flag. Wake Forest officials said last week the parade would include the Sons & Daughters of the Confederacy as it had for more than two decades.

Thank you for the link!

Sounds like they will never have a parade again. They admitted that they can't stop the group legally, and I doubt they will drop out if any parade becomes available in the future.

Protests are one thing, but it sounds like they were expecting violence which isn't the traditional way of 'protest'. That turns into something else, but they do have a responsibility to keep people safe.

I think I found the problem here....

"“Is the Town of Garner trying to send the message that racism is welcome in the community?” the group wrote on Twitter. “Is this Raleigh, North Carolina suburb going to allow Confederates in this year’s Christmas parade??

Somehow, this group think they're protesting against actual Confederate rebels lol. Someone should tell them that all rebels are gone...and these people don't oppose the Union, aren't racist, and don't support slavery.

Yet their website has some fairly pro-confederate propaganda:
What is the SCV? - Sons of Confederate Veterans

Not sure that's the same group....

I found a FB page for Sons and Daughters of the Confederacy....which is the name of the group planning to march in the parade.

From the page they seem to insist they aren't racist, don't approve of racism, and are only interested in preserving history.

Democrats hate Jesus. They'd find any reason they can to disrupt any Christmas tradition.

Every single time some ordinance or protest vs Christianity happens in the US, it's the Dems doing it.

Actually, its normally extremists - to the left. That definition doesn't fit most Democrats.

Time and time again, there are some people who prove your statements in your post to be true.

A fairly large block of my fellow Christians have what could be called an entitlement mentality. For a great many centuries we Christians have had things our own way and have controlled society to such an extent that we have been able to impose our own agenda without challenge. However, when minority groups started demanding and receiving rights that they had previously been denied, rights that Christians held all along, these same Christians felt threatened and some even claimed that they were being persecuted. Rights and freedoms are not part of a zero-sum game. Expanding them does not thereby reduce them for some other group. For example, extending marriage rights to homosexuals has not reduced the rights of heterosexuals in the slightest way. In reality Christians have lost no rights and are not threatened in any meaningful way. In Canada and the USA Christians are certainly not being persecuted.

And it's not Christians generally, it's right-wing Christians.

There is DEFINITELY extremists on that end also.

Although the quote was: Every single time some ordinance or protest vs Christianity happens in the US....

When its Christianity it normally isn't the extreme right. It's the extreme left. The extreme right has it's other issues it 'protests' to much about. They both have their part. (shrugs)
