Democrats' impeachment report cites Trump obstruction and withholding aid, warns of 'grave harm'

The Democratic-led House Intelligence Committee released a report Tuesday containing a summary of the evidence it has collected in the impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump.

The 300-page report cited two instances of improper conduct: obstruction of the House inquiry and withholding an official White House meeting and military aid from Ukraine on the condition of investigating a Trump political rival.

On obstruction, which was described as a "campaign of intimidation," the report cast Trump's efforts to "flout" Congress oversight as unprecedented because of his refusal to hand over documents and make certain witness available. But it also noted that "the House gathered overwhelming evidence of his misconduct from courageous individuals who were willing to follow the law."

"No other President has flouted the Constitution and power of Congress to conduct oversight to this extent," the report said......

The report also constructed a timeline of Trump's alleged efforts to withhold military assistance to Ukraine, as well as an official White House meeting with Trump, based on the testimony of various aides and diplomats who have been questioned by impeachment investigators.

The 300 page report is embedded in the article.

Wow. How did they write 300 pages so fast?

Most likely they had staff writing it during the public interviews, adjusting as needed.

If this is not enough for Republicans in the Senate to vote for conviction, it is almost guaranteed that side will turn blue next year.
I wish. Dont forget, many people are not following and will not read this and don't care. If the GOP was rational they would vote to remove, bit the GOP that is left has not been acting rationally.

Incredible foresight they had to Trump committing a crime 3 years down the line.

Foresight? His crime was committed in Nov 2016 ( guilty of defeating Hillary). Why were so many calling for his impeachment before he was inaugurated if that is not the case? Hindsight not foresight.

Odd that, they didn’t put bearing Clinton in the election as a reason for impeachment if that is why they are doing it. Instead they list things that have happened in the last five months.

And if this upsets you, you must be outraged at Republicans who were openly calling for Hillary Clinton’s impeachment before the election even happened. Republicans Are Already Talking About Impeaching Clinton

I see. You’re one of those that’s already set to just ignore whatever the impeachment inquiry has found as evidence of a crime. Good to know so I don’t further waste anymore time going over things you’ll just dismiss out of hand.

And it took 31 months for Trump to do something they could use.

Republicans have little room to talk since they were already calling to impeach Clinton before the election Republicans Are Already Talking About Impeaching Clinton

That's what is called a whataboutism argument. If the democrats who wanted Trump impeached before he even took office think they are of a higher standard, then they should at least attempt to demonstrate it rather than proving that they're just doing what they had planned from even before day 1.

Lol. Where’d that come from?

Well, wouldn't they think that if they themselves wanted Trump impeached from even before he was inaugurated? They would obviously think pretty highly of themselves if they've already condemned they guy to impeachment before he even has the chance to a single thing in office. I mean, how can they claim he had committed treason or high crime or misdemeanor if he hadn't even stepped foot in the oval office yet? The message seemed to be, "We hate Trump and will use whatever we can to make it look like he's done something wrong even though he hasn't even taken office yet". What kind of standard is that?
