I saw a question somewhere on the internet asking this very question. So I thought I'd put it out there. For me, I'd love to have dinner with Tulsi Gabbard because, first of all, she's drop dead gorgeous. But I think I'd be able to have an interesting conversation with her. I'd also love to go shopping with her. I'd actually like her to have me over in Hawaii and stay in her bungalo (or whatever she has) and tour the state. Other than that, I can't really stand many of the other candidates. I'd tolerate having dinner with Bernie and would like to seriously test his socialism ideas against the critiques of it I've found.

You'd have to contend with her husband. I wouldn't recommend attempting a romance. Of all of today's modern politicians she is closest to my favorite, Ron Paul. Her economic ideas are typical of Democrats though.

She's really the only politician other than Bernie Ward that wants to dismantle the war machine and I really want to see somebody do that in my lifetime. These interventionist policies of ours are immoral and unconstitutional.

The strange thing is the Dem party in mass are missing her potential of being a great choice as their leader. She seems more or less like a centralist which it seems the party seems to KNOW they must have but they keep looking at Biden which I just don't think he could win the Presidential. Bloomberg...nope he won't do it either regardless of how much money he has.

I wouldn't mind if some Dems on here would answer the question....what is it about her that they just don't like?

You answered your own question. As the current field stands, Gabbard looks like she’s center-right. The DNC has decided they want to field far left candidates.

I can't speak for the Democratic establishment and typically don't care much for them, or for centrists, but I really haven't paid much attention to her. I'll vote for her against Trump if she wins the nomination, but otherwise, I'm a "Bernie Bro" through and through. :)

(I seriously dislike Biden, but will vote for ANY of the Democratic nominees against Trump. I'd even vote for the squirrel in my backyard against Trump since it would at least be more capable of making rational decisions.)

She can't be on the "right" since the right is all about perpetual invasion. Now I would argue that this isn't actually 'right' since the GOP has been taken over by the neoconservatives (former Trotskyites) but it is what it is. It's like a circle. Saving democracy through war was the Progressive Wilson's gift to the U.S. and Leon Trotsky preached "permanent revolution" so interventionism was originally a leftist idea in modern times. But it has been adopted wholeheartedly by the mainstream of the GOP.

I did say “look like” as compared to the far left field of candidates.

Because she’s gorgeous? Where are your values? Is that what is important to you?

I would certainly do so if it appeared that the squirrel had a good chance of beating Trump! (Of course, the squirrel would probably have a great chance of biting him if they were in a debate together. :) )

I would greatly enjoy a meal with Bill and Hillary Clinton but perhaps even more with Barack and Michelle Obama.

War criminals.... I am horrified that we have tolerated people like this as our "leaders."

I don't mean this as a personal attack. I was around when Clinton was President. During his terms, he approved over 40,000 bombing sorties over Iraq and meddled in Kosovo, Somalia and Serbia.

Obama doubled the number of drone bombings and it was his CIA that instituted a policy of circling around and bombing the first respondents. I just....no.

I agree with OP in the Tulsi Gabbard is the one I would like to have a conversation with. She's reasonable, competent thoughtful. I think she carries herself with a sense of respect both in regards to herself and others around her. That's not to say I agree with everything she stands for. I think she's correct on foreign policy but dead wrong on the electoral college. Yet I think she could be convinced to change her mind. She has done a few interviews on Joe Rogan's podcast that are worth listening to. I have thought for some time that she might be the candidate that could defeat Trump in a general election. The problem is that the democratic party has lurched so far to the left that it is unlikely she would ever get the nomination.
