Hello again Valleygirl, that's a very good thing that you are doing
(checking up on a teaching whenever you have a question about it, that is ), just like the noble Bereans did when the Apostle Paul taught them ..
Acts 17:10-12.
Blessings to you in Christ,
David
p.s. - we've actually had pretty similar "church" lives. I baptized as an infant and raised in the church
(loved it, for the most part anyway ), but I was pulled away from it in college. Nevertheless
(and this may be different in your case), I always 'thought' that I was a Christian, of course
(even in my 20's when I'd left the church and embraced the world instead), until the day I actually became one, 2 months after my 30th birthday, and nothing has been the same since, PTL
Psalm 1
1 How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked,
Nor stand in the path of sinners,
Nor sit in the seat of scoffers!
2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
And in His law he meditates day and night.
3 He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water,
Which yields its fruit in its season
And its leaf does not wither;
And in whatever he does, he prospers.
