I don't debate apologetics anymore, but I went through a huge study tonight on evidence of the Bible, feel free to tackle them one at a time, I recommend every christian to book mark this first post. (not necessarily the ones after it, depending on the content), but these are all scientific evidences for not Just the Bible but for Christianity and Jesus.

  • statistical chances of one man fulfilling the prophecies of the Bible:
  • Maybe you want to do your own homework and look up some of the Biblical prophecies, here are 40 well known ones: Top 40 Most Helpful Messianic Prophecies • Jews for Jesus
  • Some of the Best Scientific evidence Jesus existed is this little piece of fabric....
  • Scientific Evidence of Moses:
  • 9 Archaeological Discoveries that prove the Bible
I will not be answering any replies to this post, I just wanted to post this here so that people who have more patience dealing with skeptics may be able to debate this material. (unsubscribing)

There are huge amounts of evidence that Christianity is true. Huge amounts. There are theories and witnesses, testimonies and conclusions, arguments and advocates.

The fact that none of the evidence for Christianity is worth the paper it's printed on is, well, a different issue. But yes, there's definitely lots of it!

The Bible teaches flat earth too. And there is evidence for that too. Make sure to bookmark it.

Philip Stallings: The Biblical Flat Earth: The Teaching From Scripture

1. Evidence <> Proof;
2. Merely providing (questionable!) evidence is unbecoming of a supposedly infallible, omnipotent, omniscient deity.

What a huge loss.

There are huge amounts of evidence that Christianity is true. Huge amounts. There are theories and witnesses, testimonies and conclusions, arguments and advocates.

I love you guys too, and miss you. I wish our debates were more.....well.....polite and nice. I would be around more but I got reported and banned, and now I am stuck mainly in soteriology threads and christian advice. I know we all got heated, but anyway. I hope you guys all find meaning in life. I know that going to a christian forum and making fun of christians, seems meaningful at first. But the life transformation that comes from Christ is it's own proof of Christianity. I don't have to prove noah built a boat, or Jesus walked on water. See if you build a house and hire electricians and I come and the electrical is not done yet and I ask.....when? And they say monday. Then I come the next day and it's still not done, and they say, tuesday. I come and it's still not done, then I come the next day and the owner of the electric company has a note on the door, and it says...."power on- Fred" Then I walk in and switch the light on. I don't have to interview all the electricians one by one, or get eye witnesses to come out and prove the electricity works, I just turn the light on. See the message is proven by the power that it puts out. Anyway, I know that you will find problems with that illustration and that is ok. What I am saying is you will never see the evidence as good enough. Facts themselves, science itself cannot be proven with facts. Because the facts themselves cannot be proven. I mean you quote peer review and journals from second hand sources without ever questioning if they were in their right mind when they wrote it, or if they were honest, or had their coffee when doing the tests. You just assume because it's peer review that it's fact. No, no, no. That's not fact. And scientists now days will straight up tell you, they cannot prove anything accept some forms of math. So saying this thread is not proof, well thats ok. You can't prove anything either. You can't prove what you ate in the morning, or what you watched on TV, or even where you were yesterday. So it's all about evidence. And even evidence is hard to come by. But this thread is merely about evidence, I highly recommend the video about chariot wheels being found on the bottom of the red sea. Also check out the shroud of turin. There is an image on the shroud of turin, and it's a negative, not a positive. There is only three views......heat transfer, which is disproven, chemical tranfer from a decomposing body, but there is little evidence of this, the third is a nuclear transfer of the body to energy, that would allow photons to transfer to the shroud. Anyway, this shroud is allegedly what Jesus was buried in. So a nuclear option is certainly plausible. Chemical transfer is not really something that we have seen a lot of tests for. And the images of dead bodies releasing chemicals is few and far between, and it also does not provide detailed images as in the shroud of turin, the image can actually be converted to a three dimensional image from the shroud. Anyway, the video I posted is only a section of a longer video on youtube. Anyway, check those ones out..... I hope and pray that you guys find the truth. And really find a hobby.

I'm sorry you got banned. Hope things improve in the future. Yes, things did get heated. Sorry about that. Faults on both sides, no doubt.

There are thousands of more <supposed> "evidences" against the Bible, since for thousands of years mankind has been making them up.

Jesus sets people free from all the sins of the world, and the power of the world,
but that is not enough to persuade many. Only a few.
The evidences against the Bible are usually pretty simple. They come down to:
"Yeah? Prove it."
You say the world was made by an invisible magic man? You say that when you die, you don't die but the "real" you carries on to a magic land? You say a man died and came back to life, and then flew up into the sky? You say that he turned water into wine, and multiplied bread and fish?
Okay. Sounds a fun story.
Prove it.

Welcome back.

... But the life transformation that comes from Christ is it's own proof of Christianity...
That's a legitimate defense. I've also witnessed great life transformation from my own practice of Buddhism.

Everyone's entitled to his opinion. This is a 2016 book by Jack Spong, the retired Episcopal bishop of Newark, NJ. I've read some of his works, but not this one. Spong's thesis is that the Bible should not be understood literally. The OT (and likely the gospels of Matthew and Mark) are products of a Jewish milieu. Educated Jewish writers used symbolic elements to make the narratives more compelling and meaningful. In fact, Spong states that believing scripture is factually accurate and infallible is a heresy that originated with gentile Greek Christian converts. This book applies that to Matthew. It looks like a worthwhile read for anyone interested in historical-critical Biblical analysis.

Religion Book Review: Biblical Literalism: A Gentile Heresy: A Journey Into a New Christianity Through the Doorway of Matthew's Gospel by John Shelby Spong.
