Totally missing the point of true idolatry. "It is an indigenous woman who represents life.” It is symbolic art. It is not worshipped. What is worshipped these days are our own egos and the opinions we hold.

The men behind the action have issued a statement, saying:

"This was done for only one reason: Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, his Blessed Mother, and everyone who follows Christ, are being attacked by members of our own Church. We do not accept this! We do not longer stay silent! We start to act NOW!

Because we love humanity, we cannot accept that people of a certain region shoukd not get baptized and therefore are being denied entrance into Heaven. It is our duty to follow the words of God, like our Holy Mother did. There is not a second way of salvation.

Yay! Should of never been in the Church or added to The Way of the Cross. No matter what lame excuses these clergy say to defend it.

I note the Vatican officials are still defending having Pachamama in the Vatican:
Ruffini said the incident “seems to me to contradict the gesture of dialogue” that the synod should represent.
Absolutely clueless. Or worse, maybe pagan instigators that now run the Vatican. Is the whole place gone mad, or only some of them?

The people who did this idol trashing should turn themselves in to the police, pay the fine or do the time, and we should thank them profoundly for doing the right thing by trashing the idol.

What's to dialogue about? There is a pagan idol that is considered another deity that is being incorporated into the practices of the Church. Why not just use a foundation of truth and honesty? They are wanting to dialogue on a foundation of lies and scandalize the faithful at the same time. That's not dialogue.

Instead, they are telling these poor people lies and saying there is no need for baptism and they can be saved in other ways? Put pagan idols inside the Church? It's despicable.

And that we all are supposed to learn from Amazonians who still practice infanticide. We already know all about killing babies, just before they are born.

By the way, was the idol rescued from the waters of the Tiber or did the wretched thing sink? Or melt!

I am wondering whether those things will be found, rescued or replaced. I often wonder (sadly) why I converted in the first place. I have lost so much respect for a lot of the upper echelons of clergy. I feel like most are are career oriented con men. It makes me sick. :(

Oh! Last I heard we need to confess our ecological sins, maybe breastfeed a weasle or two? Don't condemn Amazonian infanticide and more... All those edifying things.

Michie, they are going to be judged harshly, those in the church that lead the flock astray. You know the scripture and you understand these times were spoken of. We need to put our focus on Jesus . As for the church, The gates of hell shall not prevail against her.

I'm not recommending anyone to enter our sinking ship now adays. I've actually recommended someone I know who searched for Christ to pay a visit to a conservative Lutheran church in my town and not the catholic church.
I had this feeling that this particular individual would've been scandalized beyond repair if she entered our fallen church now.
And yes, I'm also regretting my conversion, not that there is to many options for me elsewhere either.

Do you ever wonder why you are in the Church? I mean, if you felt called to enter it. I often do.

I often wonder what the heck I'm doing. I haven't been able to get to Mass in years. There is no way to learn much. And now, this.

But, at least, I know Sola Fidé is wrong, and so is Sola Scriptura . I know that there can only be One Church, I know the Monarchial model makes sense, and I know Scripture points to Peter.

I know the Real Presence is true. I know the Church is right. I know that somehow, even if everything looks dead, even if we go into Akita mode, underground for a while, we will still exist, and finally, triumph.

It IS a generational thing, with the worst of them at the age where they have the most power, from age 60 to 75. They were seminarians in the 60's and 70's and early 80's who were the product of some awful seminary education. They have moved up the ranks, kept quiet when it was politic to do so, and gotten themselves into roles as bishops and cardinals. Now they are making themselves felt.

It's the younger priests whom they are critical of that are more in tune with the historic faith. So, the old powerful ones have to exert maximum power now before the biological solution fixes things. I used to think the Modernists would just fade away after John Paul righted the ship, but they are not going peacefully into the night. They are going for the prize.

I think we have to stand as witnesses against these bad hierarchs and let them know we are not leaving. If we really wanted to scare them we would figure out how to bring in thousands of evangelicals willing to do battle for truth along side us against the wreckers of the faith. I no longer know how to make that case, but it would be a grand thing to see them fail in their attempt to build the New Paradigm Church, watch that go teetering towards bankruptcy, but see the historic faith strengthen despite their efforts to kill us off.
