Justin Haskins: Elizabeth Warren is pretending to be something she’s not – let’s not fall for her masquerade
Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont proudly calls himself a democratic socialist. But fellow Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts – who holds many similar extreme-leftist positions – claims she’s really a capitalist.

That’s a claim that would add a few feet to Pinocchio’s nose.

Warren can call herself anything she wants. She falsely called herself a Native American for years and finally had to apologize for that instance of mislabeling. But if truth in packaging laws applied to politicians, Warren would have to admit she’s no more a capitalist than she is a Native American.

uhmmm...so? I'm pretty sure anyone who is afraid that someone might be considered a "socialist" by a Fox news writer, was pretty much already not going to vote for Sen. Warren. But I do understand the need to keep the Republican echo chamber/base afraid to look at what other candidates actually believe, one thing I might point out? No where in the article did he link to anything resembling support for his contentions. But again, it's always easier to manipulate people if you only supply them with what you want them to think rather then supplying them with facts. I might also point out that while the author failed to supply any support for his claims he did manage to supply a link to where to buy his book and his website. :sorry:

With her long record of promoting socialist causes and her calls for massive new job-killing government regulations and huge tax increases – on income, wealth, and whatever she can think of to take money from hard-working individuals and businesses – Warren is as much of a socialist as Sanders.

Again, so? You seem to think that's a bad thing. Saying it again doesn't change anything that I said in my post.

Traditionally socialism was understood as a system with common ownership. What we have is for the most part capitalism, with some services provided by governments, and with regulations.

Moving health care from private to public ownership certainly changes the balance, but the majority of the economy would still be private. It's still modified capitalism, as it is now. The current health care industry isn't functionally competitive, so the change isn't as big as it looks.

In the US we don't have any actual far left. They're moderate left, who look far left only by contrast to what we have on the right.

I'd agree with that because neither one has argued for social ownership of the means of production, which sort of is what defines socialism. Bernie's end goal probably is true socialism, but his proposals aren't there yet.
