From the "More popcorn needed", files: Trump campaign to sue CNN over pro-impeachment bias, demands ‘substantial payment’

In a four-page letter to CNN, Zucker, and Executive Vice President David Vigilante, Trump attorney Charles J. Harder cited years of anti-Trump bias at the network and claimed the cable giant has broken its promise of “excellence in journalism.”
...
While media is typically protected by the First Amendment, Harder said the bias he cited at CNN was a violation of the Lanham Act “by constituting misrepresentations to the public, to your advertisers, and to others” to distribute “truly fair and balanced” news.

“Accordingly, my clients intend to file legal action against you, to seek compensatory damages, treble damages, punitive damages, injunctive relief, reimbursement of legal costs, and all other available legal and equitable remedies, to the maximum extent permitted by law,” said the letter.

What’s more, he suggested that even if the campaign and CNN come to an agreement, he would seek money as part of that deal
.

Apparently, the Lanham Act deals with the matter of "False advertising": Lanham Act | Wikipedia

The Act prohibits a number of activities, including ... false advertising.

ROFL.

I have never seen such a childish president in my short 42 years. I'm sorry.

This is nothing more than an attempted distraction; a life raft for his adrift supporters who are running out of useful objects to cling to in an increasingly tumultuous sea.

If only you could sue the president for for false advertising of himself. Hmmmmm wait.

Since, let's be honest, Trump is a product he is trying to sell, could we, hte American people also take him to task with all his self idolizing nonsense?

Maybe get an IQ test done to prove his intellect. Have him prove his unmatched wisdom. Maybe have a general explain how "trump is soo good at army".

LOL, if he wins this suit that'll spell the end to most right wing news outlets.

He's so used to selling the Trump brand that he has become confused. It would seem that he considers himself in terms of being a product and there is plenty of false advertising that he has verbalized about himself.
Could people who voted for him but feel that he hasn't lived up to his hype sue him for false advertising?

This is ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS. Won’t CNN then be able to subpoena records and witnesses in order to defend themselves?

Trump completely forgot that he's the President of the United States! LOL. This is such a waste of the courts' time that it really should be punished as a "frivolous" lawsuit and ultimately Trump will have to pay the court costs.

Poor Trump can't handle being criticized! Maybe he should stay in the shadows if he can't handle the light. LOL.

Trump needs to learn what every toddler learns: not everything you do is perfected greatness and not everyone is going to like what you do. "Get over it", as the Administration says.

Yup. And since Trump isn't the defendant I doubt he'll be able to "settle out of court" like he's done when he was found to be scamming Trump U. "customers" or when he and daddy were nailed for discriminatory housing practices back in the 1970's.

Poor Trump, Cadet Bonespurs couldn't even learn "strategy" in the military school his daddy sent him to! LOL.

Stats please.
Ohhhhh...why? At this point, one is in a position where Trump is brilliantly trolling liberals and you can't take anything he says seriously.

Or you recognize Trump as a misanthrope.
