In 2016 Rose McGowan wrote a powerful open letter for the enabling coverage of Donald Trump and "poisoning the country with his rhetoric." This was written before the audio recording of him boasting about sexually assaulting a married woman, but by that point there were many other recordings of him bragging about exploiting females and many allegations of his sexual misconduct.

People can slowly build up tolerances to poison so that they become desensitized but its toxic effects are still there. I think in the yrs since she wrote the letter that's what's the most alarming, that his toxic behaviour is so chronic we've been forced to become more desensitized to it.

I just now read her ominous letter bc a Trump fan felt it important to bring her to my attn today. I normally wouldn't give that much consideration to a celebrity's thoughts but since he wanted to I did seek it out.

Rose McGowan Blasts Donald Trump, Murdochs, Networks in Open Letter: "You Are Causing a Worldwide Sickness"

This is the letter to / about Trump:
You are causing a worldwide sickness. You are POISONING us as sure as Flint is poisoning its citizens. You are poisoning your very own family and us, your brothers and sisters.

This is real. We are sick. Living with your daily reign of terror cancer, and it is terror cancer, is something we are unwilling to do for another minute. I do not want to live my life this way. I am a proud AMERICAN & GLOBAL CITIZEN who's head is bowed to her knees in because she is sickened every day. Because of you. It is NOT most of America who should be ashamed, it is YOU for propagating this propaganda.

We, the public, need for you to look for your humanity. We, the public, need you to think differently and to do better. Think different. Do better. It’s that easy to be a better person and to do the right thing no matter the cost. The time is now.

Stop poisoning humanity. Go rogue, reverse course, be BRAVE. He is a murderer in the making. Do NOT AID AND ABET A CRIME.

Thanks Rose! We appreciate your defending our country against rhetoric.

The article also states: "She urges those in positions of power to "think differently and to do better."

We're not seeing much of that from those in positions of power in the House--especially the leadership. Perhaps this quote in the article you posted in the OP should be noted as being a part of the "open letter" Rose wrote to people other than just Trump.

I mean I guess I could follow my elder's lead on this one and use their pattern:

"And once again, it only took up to posts 3 to turn a Trump thread into a Democrat hate thread.....

When, oh when will the Democrat haters find something else to write about?"

Then use 2004 era emojis to giggle for my amusement.

Well, I was thinking of bringing up the fact that Rose blasted Clinton and Weinstein too, but then that would have been a derail. But at least I actually got my quote from the article that you yourself posted.

You may not be seeing that those in positions of power in the House, especially the leadership, actually are thinking differently and trying to do better in regards to sexual harassment bc you haven't made an effort to look.

She wrote the letter to people other than Trump, yes, as was right. It was about Trump.

Considering the fact that the letter was written in August of 2016, Trump hadn't even been elected as president yet.
She was even blasting the liberal networks for their coverage of Trump before the election, even though they later admitted to trying to help Hillary beat him.
Too much blasting of too many people indicates a lack of focus.

Why do you think I characterized the letter as ominous? I mean what's up with the orange font acting as though you're calling out what was clear from the 1st two words of the OP?

The letter was written in 2016 as a warning about Trump's behaviour and its toxic impact. She was correct. The article I posted didn't once mention Clinton or the House, so yes it was a derailment despite you having just leapt to a lulzy unfounded accusation of derailment. In 2019 McGowan has continued to rightfully make the strongest condemnation of those who actually committed sexual assault, as is appropriate. In 2016 and in the present she's been right to be critical of those who have enabled toxic behaviour.

The lady's letter sure has been proven to have been right, sadly. At a pro-Trump conference held at one of his resorts a "spoof" video of Donald shooting, stabbing and brutally assaulting members of the news media and his political opponents was shown. People laughed when it showed Donald pistol-whipping the late Senator McCain. This comes right on the one year anniversary of a Donald devotee sending bombs to his CNN. It's not funny at all but folks whooped it up, laughed their tails off at it. The fellow who made it enjoys himself mightily with the Trump base. Now a spokesperson for Donald has claimed oh he condemns it, despite him having personally retweeted similar toxic crap.
