Who actually goes to Church today?

That is after sundown, Right? A "midnight mass?"
So biblically speaking, that is Sunday.

Evening, not midnight. Technically Saturday by modern standards but in Biblical timekeeping yes it is Sunday.

Not that encouraging as of 3 PM. It's a 2:1 ratio. I get it that some people have health issues, but that aside, I have never understood those who could go but don't bother.

There is a difference between "could go to church" and being able to go to the right church. I do live near Baptist churches, but they are the wrong kind of Baptist church. I don't live near a Pentecostal church. So without being a Methodist, Presbyterian, Lutheran, or independent fundamental Baptist, I have no church to attend.

I guess you would have to ask then if you have the right church if you can't go to it. Maybe so. I have lived a part of my life where there has been no Catholic church in a day's journey, but for the occasional visit of a priest when we would all meet for the evening before he went on to the next mission post.

Depends on where you are. For example, there are no Catholic churches in Saudi Arabia. None at all. Some embassies allow Catholic worship within their compounds, but that's it. I was in part of the Sahel where they were very uncommon. I could travel north about a half day's motorcycle ride to find a church with an Italian missionary priest who could speak French but no English, and I couldn't understand the liturgies which were in Wolof. Or a day's taxi ride (with multiple transfers) to the capital city. Or in the dry season a missionary priest would come through every other month or so. And then the liturgies were in Jola, but I could get a translator into Mandinka and also ask the priest afterwards what I missed. There were zero Protestants around. Only Muslims. And Animists. And the very uncommon Catholics.

I noticed you mentioned Lutherans and Methodists and Presbyterians and Pentecostals and the wrong kind of Baptists all around you. I guess you wouldn't have even considered a Catholic church as an option then. If I had a Baptist or Lutheran or whatever church available when I was in the Sahel I would have dropped by, not joined and not communed with them, but I would have definitely not been a stranger to them unless they were raving mad. The wrong kind of Christian is still a Christian.

Of course I have not considered a Catholic church. Pentacostals and Baptists are the opposite of Catholics in several big ways. If I did not know better, I would go around bashing everything about Catholicism and ask Catholics why they do this or that, etc. in a rude manner.

This was posted on Monday, my time, but I was at two church services on Sunday.

If I were somewhere where there was no church of my denomination, I would be willing to visit another denomination. Although admittedly my enthusiasm about that might taper off at the extremes of difference (nobody wants to worship where you'll be unwelcome or looked down on).

I have considered going to a Baptist church because there are some less than a mile away, but no way on Earth am I going to one that only accepts the authorized King James Version as God's Word. Before going to a Baptist church, I need to know which Bible version they read.

Only at Advent and Christmas Eve. Had too many bad experiences to even want to go anymore otherwise.
BUT that being said, I will sometimes drop in at the Wednesday noon Service.It usually lasts about 15 minutes, has a reading about the Saint or Founder of the day, a song, communion and prayers.

Saturday night late and it's not looking like a lot of sleep tonight?

But, tomorrow is communion at Church with a solid message straight from the Bible.

I won't miss that.
I can always rest a little after Church.
Sunday a day of rest.
We of this house enjoy that.
