Deny, divert, discredit: Trump turns to his scandal playbook once again
President Donald Trump is turning to what's become a tried-and-true pattern of defending himself against scandal in the latest controversy over a whistleblower's accusation that he made a disturbing promise to a foreign leader.

It goes like this:

Step one: Deny the reports while arguing that even if true, there is nothing wrong with what was done.

Step two: Divert attention to a subplot that implicates political rivals.

Step three: Discredit investigators by accusing those involved of a deep state or partisan witch hunt.

The playbook has been used by Trump and his surrogates repeatedly against various accusations, including whether his campaign held an improper meeting with Russians promising dirt on Hillary Clinton, that he paid hush money to an adult film actress, and that he is profiting off the presidency through his private businesses.
tulc(wash, rinse, repeat as needed) :sigh:

I have a real problem I don’t like president Trump and yet I am called to pray for him. I ask how can I do this knowing it is a call on my life I wish the Lord would rescind. So what do I do. Then I came upon a verse that gave me a really hard whack right between the eyes. I had to go back and read it a few times, no help adding prayer didn’t help even if it made feel somewhat better. The passage is found in Dan. 4 I believe verse 17 where we are told the Lord raises up the worst of men for rulers. We know that it is not every ruler but those He chooses to do so He does. The Lord does this that men would learn the folly of following other men or writing their name down instead of trusting that whoever the
Lord raises up he is not there for our harm if we live godly lives. Are we not becoming more like the world then we ever wanted to be.

A great illustration of this was Abraham and Lot both righteous men. Lot took the way of being like the world broken fellowship, unable to to save even all who were given to him and even those who came out plagued Lot’ and his people down through the years. Abraham remained an alien and stranger he had perfect fellowship with the Lord, not only was his house brought through and he was even able to intercede for Lot and others.

...I'm not sure what any of the above has to do with the OP. If those are the things you'd like to discuss shouldn't you start a thread about them?
tulc(would also point out Daniel 4 was about a world leader getting punished by God apparently for hubris)
