Americans worship the(ir) rich; they are highly apologetic on behalf of the rich, and they let themselves and their children be used for a chance to get a fraction of the "wealth".

They are holding on to Capitalism, as it were, despite the fact that the economy is (global) corporatism. That's why it seems like non hyphenated Americans have lost their marbles; the paradigm is changing, and we are seeing resistance in social form. It didn't "just happen," and America has always been divided - and it includes class.

Wow. That is certainly a claim we seldom hear. Mostly it is how awful anyone is who has wealth, no matter how honestly they came by it, how hardworking they were, or any other such considerations.

"Got wealth? Then you are evil and we intend to take your money" is what we are hearing from a number of people running for the presidency at present...and it seems that a lot of people are high-fiving the notion in return.

Apple's corporate accounts can't be compared to individuals. For one, Americans are still taxed by the federal government if they're abroad. The only way to escape the IRS is to renounce your citizenship. Second, the highest earners in the US are employees, not employers, and highly specialized employees at that. Professional athletes, Fortune 500 CEOs, and A-List actors. Mike Trout isn't going to make $30 million per year anywhere but the US. You'd have a tough time convincing the board of a Fortune 500 company to pack up the whole operation and shift it overseas just to reduce the CEO's taxes. And as amazing as Bollywood is, it doesn't really hold a candle to Hollywood. Those big earners aren't going anywhere. The wealthy people most able to leave are venture capitalists, heirs to family fortunes, and other big investors. However, they already make a concerted effort to keep their taxable income very low relative to their actual wealth, so they would not be as greatly impacted by a tax increase.

People *say* and even *do* many things that don't seem right.

You know people by what they produce. The "rich" play both sides to keep as many as possible confused, and ignorant. And, people readily indulge in the manjfactured chaos (racism, sexism, xenophobia, etc) instead of thinking about the real enemy. Few people step back to think, mainly because they know they will be pariahs if they express themselves; society was engineered to be that type of deterrent from speaking out.

Even if you think you are against the rich, you are for them by means of controlled opposition.

The apologies made are the hypocritical and degenerate activities of society.

You must be referring to our all-time high level of employment, near-record highs on 401k investments people have towards their retirements, and so on?????? Actually, none of that seems like "failure."

Statistically, they are. I too was surprised when I learned of this, thinking as most people do that the outflow was middle-class retirees, etc.

But the news reports, with statistics, specifically referred to Wall Street higher-ups and I hardly think that they fit your description. That's why it WAS news. There is nothing especially newsworthy about saying that people in the North are migrating to Florida and other sunny climes.

Know them by their fruits; ignoring what has been done to get wealth is no excuse. I never said wealthy people are evil, but where does it come from? If it isn't your business, you may have bought the Kool-Aid, sugar, cups and poison for yourself - that is how capitalism works: make the consumer pay for their own demise, and guilt them into being quiet about who does it, and why.

Every day on TV people are called consumers. You are told your data is being used to monitor your activity and make a profit from your life. You are the literal commodity.

It isn't the wealthy's fault; if you find a fool (consumers) you bump their hear and make $300,000,000 in a quarter. I am critiquing the "plebs" much more than I am the wealthy. Not everyone is a brother except for those who follow the will of the Father.

There are specific definitions for middle class, upper middle class, rich, and wealthy in the States. Rich begins at $499,999.99; wealthy begins at a net worth of ~$2.5 Million.
