Good evening everyone


Well it’s the same old story with me lately; I can’t seem to find my way with God anymore no matter what I do or don’t do. Everything I try to do feels empty and pointless, nothing ever seems to connect anymore. I have this deep rooted belief that God just doesn’t want anything to do with me anymore. I just don’t understand how I went from being such a spirit filled person to an empty shell. I need the Holy Spirit to move in my life more than ever before but it seems to be the one thing I will never have again. Please pray for me, I’m desperate.

I've been there. What helps me, is taking the focus off of my spiritual misery and actively praying for others.

God *does* love you and want you, friend. A common misconception in many Christian circles is that we must feel joyful, happy, wanted, and great all the time, or there is something terribly wrong. Not the case. Many of us have struggled with spiritual dryness and a lack of feeling God's presence. At all. That does not mean that He has abandoned us.

What I’ve learned is when my faith is weak to maintain your hope in the Lord and sooner or later when faith returns it will be deeper and more mature.

If God seems distant, who moved? It certainly wasn't God. God doesn't change, neither His love for people (Malachi 3:6), nor does His Word (Psalm 119:89). Father, help people to understand that it is Your Word, not their faulty conscience, or their flighty feelings that is to guide them (Jeremiah 17:9; Proverbs 3:5-6). Father, may people really gain the conviction that when they neglect Your Word the consequence is always that they will suffer spiritually from it, just as when we neglect to eat healthy food we suffer physically from it. May they not bemoan this, but simply start eating healthy, both physically and spiritually. To Your glory, for their good. Amen.

I am glad you are brave enough to share your concerns. Remember don't listen to the lies of the devil. Holy Spirit has never left you. If you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior He is right by your side. Circumstance in our life can take our focus off of God. But He has never left you. Surround yourself with Christian Songs. Here is a link to my favorite playlist. Just like our body needs food to live. Our soul needs to be nourished by the God through the Word, song, and prayer. Here is a book I am reading that is really showing me how we need to allow God to be in charge of our lives and look beyond our circumstances. I bought the PDF - It's Not Supposed to Be This Way- for just a few dollars on ebay. Just know the more you nourish your soul the closer you grow to God and you see how much He truly loves you, cares for you, and is there for you every minute of every day. Keep your eyes on Him. Brother I have been doing those things for a decade. Fellowship, worship, prayer, giving, fasting, serving, reading, studying, meditating, sharing, witnessing, testifying, add your input here ___________, and I’m empty. What is scary is that it’s no different if I don’t do these things.

Here is music I listen to every day. As well as the devotional I read. Just like we need food to be healthy and nourished, our soul need to be nourished with Godly things. I will be praying for you. I wonder if there is some underlying issue or event that was traumatic and correlated with your dip in faith. I pray that, if so, you will be led to healing for that. I pray you will also be led to a close relationship with the Father.
