The NAS conducted a comprehensive review of multiple studies and confirmed AGW. That is, increased CO2 ppm has both a feedback and forcing factor for surface temp., and that the latter is now taking place.

Berkeley Earth was funded by skeptics to act as an independent group to study the matter, and gave the same conclusion.

The Department of Defense, the U.S. military, Lloyds of London, HSBC, and various businesses (including oil companies) have published reports for their personnel and clients, advising them to prepare for the effects of climate change. Several of them have done the same for peak oil and rising global debt.

In short, the world population faces multiple global crises that are amplifying each other, and it cannot solve them because the global economy is made up of businesses and people who want to earn more money to buy more things. That means constantly increasing credit, borrowing, production, earning, sales, consumption, and investment, in turn leading to higher CO2 ppm, more pollution, ecological damage, the effects of resource shortages, and secondarily, increased vectors for the spread of disease, more risks for conflict, economic instability, etc.

Those videos answer the questions I asked? Give the rundown of whose running the conspiracy and how all the scientists are being paid to lie?
I just showed you a Doctor who admitted that it's a gravy train.. another official for a government that called it a fraud.

You asked for examples of those speaking out against it as you said "where are they"
You also stated that scientists are not lead by the proverbial carrot and stick... money... These are just a few.. of the many that show proof that this is factual.

I feel it's an embarrassment that the United States, under the leadership of Trump, is wanting to have us stick our head where the sun doesn't shine in regards to climate change while our peer countries shake their heads at the spectacle.
Many people are congratulating Trump on having the courage to speak out against this hoax.
The rest are just afraid of the condescension and ridicule that you just presented.

He's an embarrassment to you... But, a man who will be remembered a being wise, in the future.

In Canada.. many of the provinces are opposing the "Carbon Tax" Money grab that the idiot Justine Trudeau is forcing on them.

I'll back them any day....

how would you know that climate change is cyclical since you obviously don’t understand basic middle school science . You got that from an (gasp) authority figure who you assumed gave you correct information .
I’ve never met a creationist yet who does understand that their authority figures are usually wrong

The climate record of the last 50 years? You mean my life time? You want to base the hysteria of all the world on a snapshot of 50 years? Even when, in 1974 they were predicting an ice age.... I have no faith in them at all....

It has only been in the last century that they have had thermometers that can measure accurately enough to even begin to notice an "average" temperature of the globe... Historic numbers cannot do that...

Plus... many of the NOAA weather stations are near Air conditioner outlets that blast hot air.. or in the middle of parking lots that also show higher than ambient temperatures..... They are not to be trusted.

You're right. Scientists would never take any of that into consideration. LOL

The Pentagon has given national security briefings on the effects of climate change and how it has effected various regions and how these effects have an impact on our national interests and even our national security. They take it very seriously. Anyone who would deny that climate change is a reality is clearly disconnected from reality.

Don't watch CNN but I am interested in watching the weather.

You can debate what causes climate change but the global temperature is rising and that is a fact.

Now is man 100% to blame???

I don't think so. There are a number of significant natural factors such as the increased CO2 levels that have natural origins. In addition, Serbian astrophysicist Milutin Milankovitch produced a model of the Earth's orbit around the sun demonstrating how the tilt, rotation, and even position of the Earth while in orbit contributes to long term climate change and the subtle changes that come along with it.

I believe that the above are major factors so, I wouldn't argue that man is 100% to blame. But I will say this, natural systems relating to environment can be very delicate. Man's contribution to CO2 levels could truly prove to be the proverbial "straw that broke the camel's back" if we are not careful.

I don't see the argument of deniers though. Let's assume they are right and climate change isn't a major issue. Do we just shrug our shoulders and keep pushing ahead as we are now? Or, should we look at it like we're ahead of the curve? This would mean that we could avoid any possible crisis, open up new markets with new technologies, and deliberately create a far more climate friendly world with fewer dangerous emissions. It's almost like they want to keep the status quo until there is undeniably a problem. And sadly, should that be the case or become the case, by then it will be too late.

Should climate change be a reality or become a reality the cost of its effects along with the cost of rapidly attempting to move from fossil fuels would be staggering. If either the scientists, or the deniers, are right, it would just make sense to begin a push for clean renewable energy now. It will be far cheaper to do it now than wait for a crisis to cause us to have to act.

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

So we haven't settled anything have we? No ones mind has been changed. We are right where we started:)

No, we're not right where we were when the thread started. At least I'm not. As a teen reading through the ignorance & indifference of adults about climate change has been jarring & upsetting. I'm also embarrassed. It has changed my mind but not in the way intended when the thread was started.

I do understand what you are saying.

In Australia current surveys reveal that up to 80% of the population now recognize that climate change is occurring.

In the USA roughly 70% of the population accept that climate change is occurring.

Overall, older people tend to deny climate change and younger folk tend to accept it.

What really stuns me is not so much the denial of climate change but people's diets and the associated lack of exercise.

The rise of obesity in an era when we know full well the consequences, is what stuns and shocks me.

To understand climate change you need to do some research but health is simply stepping onto a set of scales.

What is going on out there?

Canada is probably feeling the effects of climate change more strongly than the USA, especially in northern Canada.

I read somewhere that climate change in Canada is twice the rate of other countries. So Canadians see the direct result of climate change first hand.
