  1. To receive Him it must be granted to you. It does not come by the will of the flesh, nor the will of man.

  2. The Lord must open your heart (like Lydia).

  3. No man can come to Jesus Christ “it is granted of My Father.”

  4. The foundation for being a disciple of Jesus Christ,
You did not choose Me, I chose you.

The good news is that salvation - reconciliation is a gift for who so ever is willing.
For sure, but I was trying to get an explanation from the poster.

The good news is that salvation - reconciliation is a gift for who so ever is willing.
But they are not willing.
John 5:39-40 New King James Version (NKJV)
39 You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me. 40 But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life.

All that the Father gives to ME will come to ME, is what Christ taught.

It gets worse though brother!

He chooses the common, the blind, the prisoner, the lame, the leprous, beggars, thieves, taxmen, harlots, conmen, fools, chiefs of sinners, the unworthy, the unloving, unrighteous, the faithless, even you and me.

Terrible news for some.

But when he is raised up, he will draw all men to him.

So let's continue to raise aloft the light in the darkness.

So let's continue to raise aloft the light in the darkness.

He chooses the lost and the outcast because those who should know better rejected Him, those who recognised they needed love, the right way to live, with clean hands, to have an education, to be polite, yet these pompous self possessed people preferred self indulgence and security which they thought they had above the sinners and the lost, yet it was they who were truly lost, and did not see their empty lives and hypocrisy of those they lived with, where no relationship was real or true.

There are a number of films that explore the lives of ambitious young people, who start families, loving, and finally end up in affairs, becoming bitter, twisted empty people without realising it.

This post, in particular, this next to last sentence, is reminding me of "Universalism", due to lack of context.

Was a Savior necessary?

So what is the good news?

Dear Aussie: The good news, my friend, is that the mighty salvation of the Glorious God is based entirely within Himself. He does not require our wee contribution, but moves to bring us into alignment with the Will of all wills.

The purpose which He has cherished in Himself

The "key" part is this:

"who so ever is willing."
This goes back to the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. They were commanded NOT to eat from this tree. Yet there are people that say it was God's will for them to do what He told them NOT to do. It is reported that Smith and Calvin make this claim. It was actually Wesley that argued against the Calvinists.

6 And the LORD God commanded him, “You may eat freely from every tree of the garden, 17 but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil; for in the day that you eat of it, you will surely die.” (Genesis 2:17)

This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live. (Deut 30:19)

LIFE is always the right choice to make. We choose life, health, blessing, prosperity and more. Some people choose death, sickness, curses & poverty. My son is sad at the situation in his High School where so many of the students there do not want prosperity they want poverty.

It is sad news for both God and His Creation. Good thing it is not so. We follow the "good news".

1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; 2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; 4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; 6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time. 7 Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity.

8I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.

Blessings

What does that mean?

The living God, El Elyon spelled out clearly and simply where His salvation would come from, and that is through Whom?

It is written in John 3:16.

In addition it is written that God is not the Author of confusion.

There's a verse that says exactly that, about choosing this day life or death, blessing or cursing.

it's sad about your son's school. Praying.

Without Christ, we'd all be in hell. With Christ, the opposite applies. So..er..yes.

Dear Joshua: The reconciliation of the ta panta has zero to do with our willingness as broken lost sinners. It is rooted firmly in Him from whom and in whom the all is consummated.

Your posts appear to be saying that Jesus Christ was not necessary, because whether anyone repented or not, not accepting Christ as their Savior, they will be "saved".
